This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Lotte Bluejay will be awarding a $15 Amazon/BN gift card to a randomly drawn winner. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.
An epic K-Pop fantasy adventure series for readers ages 8-12.

Music becomes magic. Friendship becomes power. And every concert could save the world.

When four freshly debuted K-pop idols discover that their songs awaken ancient magic, their rise to fame turns into something far greater than a world tour.

At their first sold-out concert, Hana, Daon, Mira, and Noah expect a night of lights and applause. Instead, they uncover a broken lullaby and fragments of an ancient prophecy. Soon strange things begin to follow them from city to city - whispers in the lights, shadows beneath the rhythm, and a dark force determined to silence their music forever.

Because somewhere in the shadows, a forgotten enemy has been waiting for the music to begin.

To protect their dreams, their fans, and each other, the four must learn to unlock the hidden power within their songs. Because harmony is strongest when no one stands alone. And some melodies were never meant to fade.

Perfect for readers who love:

• magical adventures and epic quests

Read an Excerpt:

Daon’s fingers twitched. Tap-tap … tap.

The pulse matched him.

Hana’s breath caught. “Daon,” she said, low.

“I know, I know,” he whispered, but he couldn’t help it. The beat slipped out of him like a hiccup. He added a heel-thump, tiny, a heartbeat on the floor.

The bobbing steadied. The little bumps turned into a slow roll, the kind you could ride if you knew when to lean.

Daon leaned with it, eyes wide. “Are you seeing this?”

“I’m seeing you stop,” Noah said.

Mira pressed a new chord, soft and bright. The roll faded. The seatbelt sign blinked off.

Silence fell between them, the kind that wasn’t empty at all.

Hana looked from Daon’s hands to Mira’s keyboard to Noah’s steady grip on the bass case. No one said the word magic. No one said powers. The cabin was full of people, full of cameras, full of ordinary. The last thing they needed was attention.

Daon tucked his hands under his thighs like a kid in time-out. “Okay,” he whispered. “Okay. But did you feel how the bumps synced to me? Like the plane caught the beat?”

“It synced to the pilot,” Noah said. “Like it’s supposed to.”

Mira’s mouth curved. “Maybe both.”

The cart came back with snacks. Crackers. Cups. The clink of ice. The very normal world.
They ate. They watched a cartoon on the seatback screens without hearing it. They tried to sleep.

Hana couldn't. She stared at the little screen map and watched their plane crawl toward Japan. A bright line traced their path, pixel by pixel. She thought of the glow that had raced up the mic stands, and of how her body had hummed like a string in tune.

She reached into her backpack and slid out a notebook. On the first blank page she wrote:
Seoul: power went out – we sang – stands glowed – crowd calmed. Backstage: stands still warm – felt watched – not sure. Plane: Daon’s beat = air bumps? Mira’s chord = calm?
She added a question mark and circled it twice.

The Cat Who Chased Ghosts by Nic Minnella ~ #MiddleGrade #Mystery #Supernatural ~ @GoddessFish

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. The author will be awarding a $15 Amazon/BN gift card to a randomly drawn winner. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.
About the Book:
In a sleepy little town, an ordinary-looking cat hides an extraordinary secret that will transform his owners' lives forever.

When the Thompson family inherits a dilapidated old house, their overprotected son Timmy forms a strong bond with Whiskers—a chronically lazy tabby who's not what he seems.

As Timmy explores the house's mysteries, a chilling discovery puts his courage to the test. With the help of Whiskers and some newfound friends, he must face supernatural forces beyond his imagination and rescue a soul in peril.

The Cat Who Chased Ghosts is a spine-tingling tale about bravery, loyalty, and the magical power of friendship (human and feline) that will thrill readers of all ages, reminding us that sometimes the most extraordinary heroes come in the most unlikely packages.

Read an Excerpt:

He stood at the foot of the stairs for a good minute before summoning the courage to climb them. Pausing on the landing, he looked up. The light in the attic had gone off.

But the lightbulb was broken, he remembered. Someone left it on, and now it’s flickering, he told himself.

He knew he could not go to sleep until he saw for himself that he was right, so with a deep breath, he pushed himself to keep climbing. By the time he reached the top, the light was on again.

A cold sweat broke out along his hairline.

He walked inside. The room was large and monstrously cluttered, full of old furniture belonging to Aunt Willie, and scores of boxes the Thompsons had not had time to unpack yet. He glanced around the place, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

He stood still for a bit, listening intently. Finally, he heard something; soft, yet insistent tapping.

Bats, he remembered. But bats don’t tap. Do they?

“Is someone here?” he asked. He meant to sound calm, but his voice trembled.

At that very moment, to his horror, he heard it; a low, drawn-out whisper.

“Welcome.” A faint echo lingered in the air.

“Mom! Dad!” Timmy tried calling; all he could produce was a hoarse murmur.

“Come to me,” the breathy voice sighed, closer to his ear. He spun around, expecting to see someone, but only his own reflection stared back at him from the window.

The Legendary Mo Seto by A.Y. Chan ~ @AYChanWrites @GoddessFish ~ Middle Grade, Martial Arts, Action/Adventure ThereIsAGive@way

THE LEGENDARY MO SETO

A.Y. Chan

GENRE: Middle Grade, Martial Arts, Action/Adventure

About the Book:

Mo Seto, martial arts movie star! Has a nice ring to it doesn’t it? Too bad there's a height restriction to audition. But 12-year-old Modesty (Mo) Seto has never let her height get in the way before, not when she became a black belt, or when she fought the meanest boy in her class, and she’s not going to let it stop her this time! Now if only she can figure out a way to grow five inches and fool everyone at the auditions…and find time to search for her missing father (who just might be harboring a dangerous secret of his own). Join Mo on an adventure (and audition) of a lifetime and find out if powerful things really do come in small packages!

Publishers Weekly calls THE LEGENDARY MO SETO “Adrenaline pumping”, Kirkus Reviews says it “Packs a punch”, and Booklist calls it “Remarkably relatable.” Leap in and join the fun!

Read Excerpt Two:

“You’re so gonna lose,” he says, low enough that only I can hear. “’Cause . . .”

He bends his knees so he’s several inches shorter—though even in this position, he towers over me.

I feel a tiny rip in my chest, like when a balloon is pinched but doesn’t pop, that slow leak of air—hisss.

Dax knows how to hit where it hurts. Junior-level sparring is based on age and belt level, not on size. Even after vitamins, and broccoli, and jumping jacks for a year, I’m still only four-foot-six-and-a-half. Mom says the women in her family are late bloomers, but she’s barely four-foot-nine, so I’m not holding my breath.

Why do I have to be so small? The familiar thought bursts through like a weed after a rainstorm. I used to destroy Dax all the time, but ever since his growth spurt at the end of last summer, he’s beat me in the fall, winter, and spring tournaments.

That’s three. Three tourneys.

Silver is great too. Variety is the spice of life, Dad would say, as if losing gold isn’t a big deal. But in the days and weeks after, he’d be more subdued and make me train twice as long every day. Kick harder, Mouse. You must beat him next time, Mouse. Because being the best really does matter to him. A lot.

It matters to me, too. Today’s tourney, the Dost Valley Cali-wide Mid-Year Tae Kwon Do Championship, takes place right at the start of summer, and it is the biggest one of the year. I’ll show Dax.

Read an Excerpt:

"I have a bad feeling about this," Ryan muttered.

"Don't be ridiculous," Jade replied, leading the way toward the temple. "We came here for the minerals, and we're going to find them."

As they approached the temple, they could see that it was ancient, with large stone columns and carvings covering the walls. They made their way inside, and the mineral finder began to beep rapidly.

"There it is," Jade said, pointing to a door at the end of the chamber. "That's where the scanner is leading us."

They cautiously approached the door, which was adorned with strange symbols and carvings. Jade hesitated for a moment, but then pushed the door open.

When the door creaked open, they saw a blinding light emanating from inside the chamber. They shielded their eyes and cautiously stepped inside, drawn toward the powerful energy source.
Jade and his team crept through the temple. The air grew colder, and they felt a sense of unease.

The mineral finder beeped louder as they approached the large chamber door. Ryan, the team's technician, examined the door and found that it was heavily secured.

They noticed strange markings etched on the walls. The markings resembled scratches, as if claws or sharp objects made them. Upon closer inspection, Jade realized the markings were actually a form of language, but one that he had never seen before.

Ryan, who had some expertise in ancient languages, inspected the markings. "This isn't any language that I recognize," he said, furrowing his brow in concentration. "It looks like some kind of primitive tool made it, like a claw or a rock."

Jasper, who had been scanning the temple with his handheld device, interrupted. "Guys, I'm getting some strange readings here," he said, pointing to his device. "It looks like there's some kind of energy emanating from the walls themselves."

Jade walked over to Jasper. "That's strange." He looked at the device. "There's definitely something here, but I can't quite make out what it is."

"It seems to radiate from behind this door." Jade touched a door at the end of the hallway with strange markings.

Jasper, the team's muscle, stepped forward and used his strength to force the door open. Inside the chamber, they found a glowing orb emitting a powerful energy. Jade approached the orb and scrutinized it, trying to identify its properties.

As he did so, the orb suddenly flared up with a blinding light, knocking the team off their feet.

When they regained their senses, they found the orb had disappeared and the chamber was now empty.

Jade, Ryan, and Jasper looked at each other, stunned by what had just happened. They realized they had stumbled upon something beyond their understanding and knew that they needed to report their findings to their superiors. Before they could head back to their shuttle, the darkness faded once again, and the center of the room gleamed with a small object. A crystal. It flickered slightly.

About the Author:

Linda Luchtman is a debut author from the Netherlands. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which was a hard time for many people emotionally and mentally, the story of Sitou was born, but the author put it aside to write "The Bum Biter," a sweet little book for toddlers that was only released in her private circle in the Netherlands but will be available on Amazon later this year.

It wasn't until her daughter, Lara, struggled with anxiety in 2023 that the author revisited the story of Sitou. She knew it was the perfect way to help her daughter, and it did just that. Now, Linda is on a mission to share the story to help kids and adolescents with their emotional well-being. Next to this, she has made several assignments to go along with Sitou's story to help readers connect Sitou's journey to their lives. This makes it a more interactive and meaningful experience.

Linda is not only an expert in writing. She is also an expert in instructional design and using neuroscience to create effective classrooms. She has a Master's degree in this field and has helped many teachers and trainers in universities, vocational training, and businesses. Ever since Dexter and Dougal’s mom passed away, life has been different—but things take a whole new turn when a shooting star turns out to be a creature from outer space! Gobbledy is a fun-filled holiday story that adds up to two brothers, three friends, unlimited jars of peanut butter, a ketchup factory, and one little alien far, far from home.

Read an Excerpt:

“What do you think these things are?” she asks.

A loud wail comes from the new jar full of dirt.

Slowly, I lift the jar off the work table and unscrew the lid.

Fi and I look down at the strange bug. The little thing wails. It's not much bigger than the two crickets standing on the sidelines, staring.

Fi looks at me with a wild look in her eyes. “Does your dad know?”

I shake my head. “Absolutely not. No. Dad will just make me take him back to the forest.”

I pull the lid off. The strange little bug opens his mouth really big.

“Okay, okay,” I whisper. “I’ll feed you, but you have to be quiet.”

He closes his mouth and blinks. For a second, I think he might actually understand what I’m saying.

There's a bag of potato chips on the counter in the kitchen. I drop chips into the jar one by one, avoiding the crickets.

          Chomp. Chomp. Chomp.

          “Where’s the rock?” Fi asks.

          Chomp. Chomp. Chomp.

The back door opens. Startled, Fi jerks upright abruptly, smacking her head on the slanted ceiling. I try to grab her hand as it flies past my face.  Her arms flap wildly as she falls in a woozy, slow motion out into the hall.

          “Fi?” I say loudly.

          Ka-thunk.

“Fi?”  I drop to the floor next to her and check her pulse, like I've seen people do in movies.  “Can you hear me?”

She undoubtedly cannot.  She does not move or answer.

The jar wobbles on the wooden table.

“Excuse me,” I quickly step over her limp body and grab the jar.  I tighten my grip as it jerks around in my arms.  Hurky-jerky, it shifts against my shirt.  I hold tight and screw the lid back on.

          “Dexter?”

Huh? “What are you doing home, Dougal?” I yell.

          “I live here.”

“I know that, but you're early.”

“Not really. School is out. Dad asked Fran to pick me up because you got in trouble again, and he couldn't leave work twice.”

          “Umm...”

Fran walks into the hall and says, “Oh my gosh, what happened?”

I look left, then right.  Up, then down.  Over, then under.  My eyes settle on my backpack next to my work table. I shove the jar inside quick, listening to the hurky-jerky sound of glass tapping against my notebooks.  I cover the jar with my jacket and step quickly into the hall.

Fran pulls her hand to her mouth.  “What happened to Fi?”

Fi is on the floor where I left her.

“She was, ummm, we were doing our science projects and then she fainted.”

“I thought you had to turn those in today?”

“We did, but mine got loose and she was ...”

I stare at her limp, oddly twisted body.

“Do you want me to perform CPR until the emergency workers arrive?” Dougal asks.

Fran rolls Fiona over on her back.  “They'll be no emergency workers. I got this,” she says quietly, tapping Fi’s cheeks. “Fiona?”

          Fi's eyes pop open. “Wha?

“You passed out, girl.  Are you okay?”

          “Huh?”

Fran helps Fi to her feet.  She sways, woozy, reaching for the wall.

Their cat, Sir Shreds-A-Lot, scratches and howls at the back door.

“Don't let that cat in,” Dougal says.  “He's been sneaking up to the attic and eating the villagers in Mom's village.”

“What's the last thing you remember?” I ask Fi.

She rubs her forehead.  “Let me get an ice pack. I'll answer that in a minute.”
