Oh, Tal! Not Like That by Tal Anderson ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #OhTalNotLikeThat #TalAnderson #ChildrensBook

About the:

Oh, Tal! Not Like That., a new book by autistic actor Tal Anderson and award-winning Hollywood artist, Michael Richey White, is Book 2 in the Oh, Tal! series for children.

Tal and the family cat, Winnie are once again taking on the world, and this time, they're doing it at school. Tal starts the school year off excited, but quickly learns that in the classroom, they like kids to follow directions, and to be the same, and do things uniformly. Tal has different ideas, however, and classmates and teachers work hard to teach and model the "right way" to do things.

In the end, they all learn a valuable lesson: that there are more ways than one to get things done, and that expressing yourself authentically leads to good things. Once again, Tal wins over hearts and confirms it's okay to be different, be yourself, and to follow your own path.

About the Author:

Tal Anderson is a professional actor, filmmaker, and writer. She is an advocate for change, using her voice and unique platform as an autistic actor to support inclusion and authentic representation in front of and behind the camera in Hollywood. She is best known for her work in the Netflix series "Atypical" as Sid, but can also be seen and heard in many other productions including, guest-starring in Season 5 of "Magnum P.I." on NBC, and as the English voice of Tina in the Disney Plus series, "Team Chocolate." Tal has always been a storyteller, and as a child could be seen constantly using her FLIP video camera, or one of several hand-held voice-recorders to record every day life, or her daily performances of stories/scripts she had made up or written. It is this love of imagination that led her to acting and filmmaking as an adult. "Oh, Tal! - Not Today," is Tal's first book. She lives in Los Angeles with her cat Winifred, where they can both live their best lives and be their true selves.

Princess and Scruffy by Sean O'Leary ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #PrincessandScruffy #SeanOLeary #ChildrensBook

Princess and Scruffy by Sean O'Leary

Children's Book

About the Book:

Princess, a graceful cardinal, and Scruffy, a lovable silvery-gray squirrel, discover an unlikely friendship in the forest. As the seasons change, Scruffy must face his greatest fear and learn that courage often begins with a friend by your side.

A tender forest friendship story about courage, trust, and overcoming fear.

About the Author:

Sean O’Leary is a local Utah author whose work spans dystopian thrillers, heartfelt children’s stories, and reflective literary nonfiction. From dark futures to woodland friendships, his writing is driven by imagination, emotional depth, and the belief that every story should leave a mark. Backstory: Nearly four decades ago, what would one day become Princess and Scruffy began not as a children’s book, but as a love letter. When Sean O’Leary was first dating the woman who would become his wife, he put his feelings into story form. In his heart, he saw himself as Scruffy—the hesitant, lovable squirrel learning to climb beyond his fears—and her as Princess, the graceful cardinal who drew him toward courage, wonder, and love. What began as an intimate letter between two people slowly took on the shape of a fairy tale, revised and cherished across the years of their life together. Then, two years ago, with the arrival of his first grandchild, the story found its true home. Sean wanted to leave behind more than a book; he wanted to preserve a living piece of family history—a bedtime story born from the love he felt for the child’s grandmother, now transformed into a legacy for the next generation. Brought vividly to life through the enchanting illustrations of Turkish artist Hatice Bayramoglu, Princess and Scruffy is both a woodland fable and a quiet love story that has endured for 38 years.

The Writing Journey by Eva Legre Zigre, Author of RJ’s Adventures in Temecula ~ #ChildrensBook #Children #BoardBook @GoddessFish

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Eva Legre Zigre will be awarding a $25 Amazon/BN gift card to a randomly drawn winner. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

Please welcome author Eva Legre Zigre to the blog today!

This Writing Journey

I’ve known for some time that I wanted to write a book. I wonder if that is common, that a book forms in your mind over years instead of hours. For me, it’s been years, and even after formulating, researching, and observing people and places I considered useful for my manuscript, it went a totally different way from the inspirational nonfiction book I was plotting.

I was prepared to begin my publishing career after my marriage; instead, more than a year later, I was deeply inspired by the bundle of joy we were blessed to bear. So instead of an inspirational non-fiction, I wrote a children’s adventure book about traveling to different cities.

From the first organized thoughts on the book to holding a hard copy in my hands took the better part of a year. Since the book is set in Temecula, I had to get permission to use the likenesses of the places I featured. The community is very close and hands-on, which means emails get passed up for phone calls, and phone calls are not preferred over handshakes and lunch meetings. The progress was slow but meaningful and the relationships I built are ones I wouldn’t give up quickly.

Even as agreements were signed and photos were taken of the sites to be used as reference material for the illustrator, I hoped and prayed that this was the right path, that all of the work would be fruitful.

It wasn’t until the illustrations were done and the story drafted on the pages that I felt I was getting closer to the finish line. Then those pages left for the printer and came back as the finished book, ‘RJ’s Adventures in Temecula which has made story time full of the question, “Mommy, Daddy, can we go there?”

I took a week to breathe it in before starting all over again with RJ’s Adventures because in a few weeks, RJ will be going to Murietta.

What a ride.

About the Book:

If you've had a chance to visit Temecula, California, you'd be one of many who have had the privilege of watching hot air balloons take flight during sunrise and descend at sunset, walking the grounds of one of the most beautiful rose gardens in California, and visiting a rare and noble tree that looks to have stood the test of time. You will find some of the most popular and heavily visited sights in Temecula, beautifully illustrated and captured in child-like conversation.

RJ’s Adventures in Temecula is a vibrantly colored board book featuring thirteen of Temecula’s most visited attractions. The illustrations jump off the page, offering children fun images to look at while learning more about Temecula, California’s historic sights.

Beware. Your child may ask to visit some of the attractions presented in this 20-page book, such as Professor Pennypickles' Workshop or the Sugarplum Zoo and Chocolates. Come visit for a week, but first, do your research and take this adventure around Temecula, California with RJ.

Genre:

Children's Book

Read an Excerpt:

Kind Kids by Jenna McDonough ~ #RABTBookTours #KindKids #JennaMcDonough #ChildrensBook

The Adventures of Hurley, Pearl, and The Pink Soldiers of Kindness

Children's Book

Date Published: October 10, 2025

Publisher: Gatekeeper Press

About the Book:

Hurley and Pearl are a brother and sister duo who usually get along but, like all siblings, sometimes struggle with their emotions. One day, when Pearl’s singing pushes Hurley to his limit, a family conflict teaches them both an important lesson: kindness begins with understanding and taking responsibility for your emotions.

With Mom’s loving guidance, Hurley and Pearl learn the power of pausing, breathing, and reflecting before reacting. They discover that kindness can heal hurt feelings, bring people together, and make everyone feel seen and loved. Inspired by Mom’s story of spreading kindness through small pink toy soldiers, the siblings embark on a heartwarming mission of their own—to brighten others’ days, one soldier at a time.

At school, Hurley comforts a classmate with a pink soldier after a tough moment on the playground, while Pearl lifts the spirits of a substitute teacher who feels overwhelmed. Through these small but powerful acts, Hurley and Pearl realize that kindness doesn’t just help others—it also fills their own hearts with warmth and happiness.

Their journey is about more than sharing toys; it’s about spreading love, empathy, and connection to everyone around them. Along the way, they discover a simple truth: kindness can change the world, one thoughtful gesture at a time.

Complete with a heartfelt letter from the fictional Colonel Michael T. Pinkerton, Kind Kids inspires young readers to share their own adventures of kindness. This delightful and empowering story encourages children to take small steps to make big impacts in their families, classrooms, and communities while reminding them that kindness to others begins with being kind to themselves.

Perfect for parents, teachers, and children alike, Kind Kids is a touching exploration of sibling dynamics, emotional growth, and the ripple effect of simple, kind acts.

About the Author:

My name is Jenna McDonough, and in addition to being a children’s book author, I work with both adults and children to help them better understand and manage their emotions. I am the creator of the PEACEFUL Mindful Moments for Every Age App—the first-of-its-kind emotional intelligence app designed to teach children and their caregivers how to integrate tools and techniques for emotional regulation into daily life. Organized by both age and emotion, the app offers meditation, mindfulness activities, somatic resets, breathwork, and binaural beats. It also includes an Adult Meditation Library and is home to two of my signature courses: Highly Meditated and Introduction to the Healing Arts.

Beyond the app, I guide adults in identifying and releasing stuck energy through meditation, sound baths, and custom-designed healing experiences. I also developed coaching programs, such as Lifestyle Design and a proprietary program for high school juniors and seniors, as well as for any young adult navigating a transition year, to help them prepare with confidence for life beyond the classroom.

My professional journey began in education. I hold a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Communications Journalism from Florida Atlantic University, and started my career as an Elementary ESE teacher. While I found teaching deeply fulfilling, I also experienced firsthand the challenges of burnout, which inspired me to seek balance through meditation, mindfulness, and yoga. As my life evolved and I became a mother, I continued to deepen my personal practice, remaining committed to wellness while shifting my focus toward family.

During the global pandemic, I witnessed the surge of anxiety and stress across all ages and felt called to expand my work. What began as a personal passion evolved into a mission: to equip others—children, parents, and adults alike—with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges with greater peace, presence, and emotional intelligence.

In recognition of my dedication to wellness and emotional regulation, I have and continue to serve as a member of the 2024 and 2025 Forbes Health Advisory Boards.
