The Rulebreaker by Piper Rayne ~ #SportsRomance #ContemporaryRomance

About the Book:

I’m the coach’s daughter. Falling for one of my father's players was never the plan.

Especially not Decker Davis.

Chicago Colts third baseman.

Dependable. Steady. The guy everyone trusts.

And the man who’s spent years keeping his distance—especially from me.

We have history. The kind that ten years and a thousand miles can’t touch.

So, this time, I promised myself I'd be smarter.

No getting attached. No blurred lines. And definitely, no falling.

He broke every last one within the first week.

Because Decker doesn’t just show up for me. He shows up for my daughter.

Because he fits into our lives like he was always meant to be there.

Because he looks at me like I was never something he wanted to lose.

And suddenly, the walls I've spent years building don't feel nearly as solid as they used to.

But if I let him in, I’m not just risking my heart—I’m risking hers too… and I already know what losing him costs.

I won’t let my daughter pay that price.

#BookReview & #AudiobookReview ~ The Wild Card by Piper Rayne ~ #SportsRomance #Baseball #Romance

Getting pregnant after a one-night stand with my brother's best friend was never part of the plan.

We're talking about Foster Davis here.

Chicago Colts closing pitcher.
The broody king of one-word answers.
And the man everyone knows keeps one foot out the door.

Surprisingly, when two pink lines turn my world upside down, Foster doesn't run. He steps in, he shows up, and he insists we do this together.

Pretending we're fine is easy. Pretending this is just about the baby? Not so much.

Because Foster is gentle when no one's watching.
Because he looks at me like I'm something worth protecting.
Because the walls he's built start to crack—and I'm the one he's letting inside.

Our arrangement was supposed to be simple. Boundaries were set. Co-parents and no catching feelings.

Okay, maybe a few sex lessons were added in too. Bad idea, I know.

Because the more time I spend with Foster Davis, the harder it is to remember why I ever thought he was the risky choice.

My Review of the Book:

The Wild Card is the amazing second book in The Dugout series by Piper Rayne. I absolutely loved Callie and Foster's story. They both are magnificent characters. They are complex, emotional, and believable. The chemistry they share is off the charts, even though they try to deny their feelings.

One of my favorite tropes is the sibling's best friend romance. This story knocks that trope out of the park! The Wild Card is sweet and spicy, heartwarming and heartbreaking, and filled to the brim with romance and emotion.

I loved everything about the story, the characters, the setting, and the romance. The authors created a realistic and romantic world. The story flows well, pulls you in, and keeps you engaged. The writing style and story are amazing.

My Review of the Audiobook:

The narrators for this series are spot-on. I love how each voice perfectly portrayed their assigned character. I don't typically read in a specific "voice" in my head, but if I did, Sean Masters and Erin Mallon would be those "voices." I'm excited that I was able to read the book and listen to the audiobook (I don't typically have both formats but for this book I said "Why not?!"). I alternated between formats depending on where I was and what I was doing.

I was provided with a copy of this book and the audiobook. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

#BookReview ~ The Hotshot by Piper Rayne ~ #SportsRomance #Baseball #TheDugout

The Hotshot by Piper Rayne is now live!

About the Book:

Raising my cousin’s three kids wasn’t in my five-year plan.
Actually, it wasn’t in any plan.

One minute I’m a single labor and delivery nurse living a quiet life and the next, I’m navigating guardianship hearings, meltdowns, and homework I’m pretty sure requires a math degree.

Enter Hayes Carlisle.

My best friend’s older brother.
Chicago Colts newest catcher.
And the man I once kissed and immediately pretended I didn’t.

So, when the custody battle I’ve been dreading becomes a reality, I shouldn’t be surprised that Hayes swoops in with a wild idea—a fake relationship. According to him, pretending we’re together will polish his image and prove to the court I’m not taking on an instant family alone.

But pretending to be Hayes’ girlfriend is a terrible idea.

Because he remembers how to make me laugh.
Because he looks at me like our kiss wasn’t a one-time mistake.
Because the kids start asking him to read bedtime stories.
Because my heart starts wanting things my life doesn’t have room for.

I can manage the chaos. I can fight for these kids.
But pretending not to fall for Hayes Carlisle?

That might be the one thing I can’t do.

My Review:

The Hotshot is the first book in a new baseball romance series and I loved it! Leighton and Hayes are magnificent characters. They are complex, emotional, and completely believable. Their chemistry is off the charts. Leighton and Hayes have known each other forever and that's what they hoped to have at one point but circumstances led them down different paths.

One of my favorite tropes is the brother's or sister's best friend romance. This story knocks that trope out of the park! The Hotshot is sweet and spicy, heartwarming and heartbreaking, and filled to the brim with romance and emotion. There is a lot of sadness, secrets that are revealed, and tense scenes as Leighton works on proving that she's the best fit as the guardian of her cousin's three children.

I loved everything about the story, the characters, the setting, and the romance. The authors created a realistic and romantic world. The story flows well, pulls you in, and keeps you engaged. The writing style and story are amazing.

#BookReview ~ A Cozy Holiday by Kels & Denise Stone ~ #KelsDeniseStone #ACozyHoliday #HolidayRomance #SmallTownRomance #SingleDadRomance #Valentineprlm @valentine_pr_

A Cozy Holiday by Kels & Denise Stone is now live!

About the Book:

One grumpy city veterinarian. One hot single dad. And a winter cabin full of naughty decisions just waiting to happen, in this holiday novella by bestselling authors Kels & Denise Stone.

After walking in on her boyfriend mid-thrust with someone who wasn’t her, Joy Winters is labeled an emotionally unavailable workaholic. One too many wines later, she drunkenly books a last-minute getaway as far from New York City as her dignity will take her. The reindeer sanctuary on the property needs a veterinarian. Joy is desperate for a distraction.

Enter Jamie Wilder: mustache-haver, reindeer wrangler, and Joy’s host in Cranberry Hollow, Maine. He’s just trying to keep the sanctuary running and his twins happy through another chaotic holiday season—not fall for the snappy city vet. But as Joy throws herself into helping his animals, Jamie starts to feel that warm feeling he hasn’t felt in his heart (or other places) for a very long time.

My Review:

A Cozy Holiday is such a cute holiday romance. Joy is a workaholic who's boyfriend takes it upon himself to get satisfied elsewhere. In a wine-infused stupor, Joy responds to an ad to assist at a reindeer sanctuary. This was only supposed to be temporary but when Joy meets Jamie and his two daughters, it may be enough to thaw her frozen heart and get her to see there's more to life than work.

I loved Joy and Jamie. This is a pretty fast-paced novella so be prepared for insta-lust, insta-love, and really quick decision-making. The author's created characters with terrific chemistry though, so the quick pace of the romance wasn't unrealistic. In fact, I met my now-husband at the end of July many moons ago and I was moved in by the second week of September. We've been together for 18 years married for 16 of them. I very much believe in knowing when you find your person.

Everything about this book works and I'm glad to have been provided a copy to read.

#BookReview ~ Broken Veil by Elizabeth Hunter ~ #Shadowlands #FairytaleRetelling #Dragons

Broken Veil by Elizabeth Hunter is now live!

About the Book:

She’s a daughter of two worlds.

And those worlds are ready to collide.

Carys Morgan is a mythology professor who walked through a fae portal and into a shadow world where myths and magic are reality. She has danced with dragons, bargained with fae, and fallen for a Scottish blacksmith with the heart of a knight.

But now both the Shadowlands and the Brightlands are in danger because Carys unleashed an ancient power, and the old gods are looking to Carys for a solution.

A goddess of war is loose in the modern world, and the fate of both realms depends on Carys correcting her mistake. To return the Morrígan to the Shadowlands and stop the worlds from colliding, she’ll need the help of old gods, new gods, and every ally—living or dead—she’s made along the way.

Fall into the pages of this modern fairytale brought to life! BROKEN VEIL is the third installment in the SHADOWLANDS series by USA Today Bestselling Author Elizabeth Hunter. With vivid worldbuilding, relatable characters, and abundant mysteries to uncover, this is a world you’ll yearn to get lost in long after the last page is turned.

My Review:

Carys's final story in the Shadowlands trilogy is nothing short of brilliant.

The only way to keep the Brightlands and the Shadowlands from colliding is by getting Morrigan back into the Shadowlands.

Get ready for a wild ride as Carys attempts to rid the Brightlands of the goddess she unleashed. The novel is interesting, full of action and adventure, and draws the reader in from the start. The writing is fluid and cohesive, the story perfectly paced, and Carys's adventures are neatly tied up into a perfect ending.

#BookReview ~ Yule Be Mine by Piper Rayne #CloseProximity #EnemiesToLovers #Holiday #Romance

Yule Be Mine by Piper Rayne is now live!

My Review:

Yule Be Mine is a fast-paced holiday romance. Carter and Ashley have a less-than-savory history. He rejects her. She understandable doesn't take it well. He needs a room to stay during his best friends' wedding. She has the only room in town.

I really enjoyed Carter and Ashley's story. They had amazing chemistry. The close-proximity, enemies-to-lovers, holiday story entertained me and engaged me. I flew right through this novella. Yule Be Mine was a pretty fast-paced story.

I liked everything about the story, the characters, the setting, and the set-up. The authors created a story that flows well, pulls you in, and keeps you engaged. This writing due creates amazing worlds and I love being part of them.

Piper Rayne has revealed the cover for Chasing Home!

Releasing: December 9, 2025

Cover Designer: The Whiskey Ginger

About the Book:

It was straight out of a rom-com—until two pink lines changed everything.

Zander Shaw is country music’s hottest star. So, when he singled me out of a packed arena and had me pulled backstage, I should’ve known I wasn’t his forever. One signed NDA later, I was sneaking onto his tour bus, wrapped up in his world, and him. But it ended before it really started when he ghosted me.

Then he shows up on my family’s ranch to film his new music video, a surprise to us both. Now I’m his appointed tour guide around the ranch, stuck sharing all my favorite places with the man who carelessly discarded me.

The more time we spend together, the harder it is to guard my heart because his flirty half-smile makes me forget my anger. But Zander’s made it clear, he’s not looking to ride out into the sunset with anyone.

Which would be fine… if I wasn’t carrying his baby.

#BookReview: Chasing Love by Piper Rayne ~ #ContemporaryRomance #SecretBaby #SingleParents

Chasing Love by Piper Rayne is now live!

About the Book:

It was over between Bennett Owens and me—until I had no place to go but back to Willowbrook.

Seven years ago, he walked away, and I built a new life for myself, swearing never to look back. But when my husband is arrested, that life collapses, leaving my daughter and me with nothing but a three-month plan to return to the small ranch town before disappearing again.

Bennett’s a single dad now. Our girls become inseparable on sight, making it impossible to keep him at arm’s length. Especially when I end up working alongside him, where every glance chips away at the walls I’ve built.

The years apart haven’t dulled the pull between us. Bennett remains protective and patient, determined to prove that we deserve a second chance. But he has no idea about the secret I’ve kept since the day he left.

Because once he learns the truth, he may never forgive me. And like it or not, we’ll be bound together forever—by the daughter he never knew was his.

My Review:

This book is Full of Feelings, Regrets, and Additional Chances.

Chasing Love has a romantic trope that readers might find controversial. One that could turn readers off. Let me tell you though, once you learn more about what happened, you might see things in a different light. I enjoyed Bennett and Delaney's characters and how the authors paved their road to redemption. Both are to blame for things that happened in the past but the authors did great job brining everything to the surface for the characters to explore and navigate.

#BookReview ~ Valentine Nook by Lulu Moore #Romance

Valentine Nook by Lulu Moore

About the Book:

Lando Burlington, the eleventh duke of Oxfordshire, is back on the market as England’s most eligible bachelor.

It’s a title he’d sooner burn to the ground, especially following the fallout of his ‘almost’ wedding. It doesn’t help that his mother is trying to set him up with every single woman in the country, none of whom he’s interested in. The final straw is when she rents out his former pre-marital home to Holiday Simpson... America’s sweetheart and box-office favorite.

Holiday needs a break from the chaos of Hollywood - replacing red carpets for green fields - and Valentine Nook, Oxfordshire, seems just the place to do that.

But she didn’t count on her new landlord.

With his piercing blue eyes and hard set jaw, he’s as handsome as he is grumpy. And that’s nothing to say of his bronze, sculpted muscles she wishes she hadn’t noticed when she took a wrong turn down a country lane.

For Lando, avoiding Holiday is impossible in a village as small as Valentine Nook, but he starts to wonder if maybe she’s not as terrible as he originally thought. Especially when she smiles at him.

It doesn’t matter though, Holiday’s visit is temporary. This isn’t the movies. She’s not looking for her one true love, and doesn’t need to be swept off her feet.

Except as summer turns to autumn it’s clear they’re going off script, and Lando must find a new ending to their story before it’s too late.

My  Review:

Valentine Nook is the first book in the Valentine Nook Chronicles. There is also a prequel titled Once Upon a Christmas Tree that is helpful to read first. There are characters mentioned in Valentine Nook that we met in Once Upon a Christmas Tree. Having read the prequel aided in my remembering of those characters.

Lando is the Duke of Burlington. He also is still healing from the heartbreaking occurrence in Once Upon a Christmas Tree that led to the cancellation of his wedding. He’s keeping a low profile, not interested in dipping his toe back into the dating pool anytime soon. His mother has taken it upon herself, however, to try and set him up on dates to get him back in the water. She’s even gone so far as to rent out his currently empty former marital home to a Hollywood starlet. He refuses to take the bait his mom tries tempting him with as, he’s just not ready.

Then Lando meets his new tenant, one Holiday Simpson, talented actress, but one in need of a break. First impressions being what they are, Holiday and Lando meet in an awkward situation but then find themselves being in the same place at the same time on many other occasions. I enjoyed their slow-burn romance. They didn’t particularly like each other at first and the author did an amazing job slowly bringing them together.

I enjoyed watching them begin that wonderful dance that starts out as interest and builds until they can’t stay away from each other. They have amazing chemistry even as they tried to deny anything. I love all the supporting characters from Lando’s sister, brothers, and mother to the townsfolk and local business owners.

I love the author's writing style. This story is well-written, has spectacular character development, and enjoyable world-building. I felt like I was right in Valentine Nook with them. The book is fast-paced, enjoyable, and engaging. I was pulled right into the book by the synopsis and the author's storytelling.

#BookReview ~ Chasing Forever by Piper Rayne ~ #SmallTown #Romance

Chasing Forever by Piper Rayne is now live!

It was a fun Vegas getaway—until I woke up married to my ex-fiancé’s brother.

After Watson brother #1 ditched me at the altar, I stopped believing in happily-ever-afters. So I have no clue how I ended up saying “I do” to Brooks—Watson brother #2—somewhere between tequila shots and bad decisions.

Okay, that may not be true.

Sheriff Watson has been a charming thorn in my side ever since his brother left our small ranch town in his rearview mirror. He’s a little too steady, a little too sweet, and way too intuitive because he sees through my facade. But no matter how tempting he is, he’s still a Watson.

I demand an annulment. He refuses, bargaining four real dates before he signs.

Fine. I’ll sabotage each one and keep my heart safely locked away. It’s easier this way because he has no idea the secret I’m keeping.

Of course, Brooks doesn’t go down easy—he has enough faith for both of us. He tackles my fears at every turn, making me wonder what would happen if I went all in.

But trusting the wrong man once nearly ruined me—doing it again might finish the job.

My Review:

Chasing Forever is the fourth book in the Plain Daisy Ranch series. This is Lottie Owens and Brooks Watson's book. They go to Vegas as part of group to watch Emmet and Briar get hitched and, after a drunken evening, they wake up the next morning Mr. & Mrs.

Lottie panics and Brooks takes things in stride. When she demands an annulment, he counters with some dating to be sure. As they move through the dating phase, while enduring the whispers of the town folk, the snickering of her family, and the snide comments from his parents, a slow burn romance takes shape.

I really enjoyed Lottie and Brooks' story. I immersed myself in their tale of an accidental marriage, slow-burn romance. I loved them separately and together. They are strong characters that stand on their own but are so much better together.

They aren't perfect and the authors wrote them so well. Lottie has a lot of emotional baggage stemming from Brooks' brother. Brooks has a lot of family drama that he can't shake. I loved watching them unravel each other. I enjoyed watching Lottie finally take the the time to see what was in her heart. Brooks was patient, understanding, and so romantic.

I enjoyed the story, setting, and characters. I have really enjoyed the Plain Daisy Ranch series. I can't wait for the next book.
