About Me and Social Media Links

My real name is Amber and I'm an avid reader, in love with the printed page since I was child. My reading frenzy began with my Grandmother and her collection of vintage Nancy Drew books. I read almost every type of book from paranormal to mysteries to romance.

I started blogging with Sapphyria's Book Reviews, (http://saphsbookblog.blogspot.com/) in May 2011 as a place to express my love of books to others. Unfortunately, as of 6/7/17, Sapphyria’s Book Reviews was deactivated (not by my choice) and is now inaccessible. I have since recreated 3 new blogs and am now the blogger behind Sapphyria’s BooksReviews by Saph, and Saph's Cozy Corner. I feature reviews on all three blogs and spotlights/features on Sapphyria's Books.

I am also the owner of Sapphyria’s Book Promotions. I was a publicist for a small Colorado-based publishing company until they, unfortunately, had to close their doors. After helping so many authors through my work as a publicist, I decided I wanted to continue to support authors and that is how Sapphyria’s Book Promotions was born.

I live in Michigan with my husband. I am employed by a large University with 15 years of seniority, three of those years as a Senior Buyer. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in Organizational Administration and Psychology (2016) and my Master of Science in Administration degree with a concentration in Acquisitions Administration (2019). Now that I'm done with school, I enjoy being able to read more, blog more, make jewelry (Amber's Creations), play Borderlands, Diablo III, World of Warcraft, and Destiny 2 with my husband, learn how to play golf, and spend as much time with our family as possible.

If my name is Amber, "Why Sapphyria?" Well, it's sort of a complicated story but I'll do my best not to confuse you.

Part One of the story: My birthday is in September and the birthstone is sapphire. I love sapphires and dark blue is my favorite color.

Part Two of the story:  I met my husband in 2007 (- yay for Myspace) and moved in with him after a short 1 1/2 month courtship (we've been married for over 13 years now). His addiction to World of Warcraft (WoW) was really never an issue but it also helps that instead of getting upset about it - I decided to go with the old saying "If you can't beat 'em - join 'em.” In 2008, I created my very first WoW character, a Blood Elf Hunter named ---- Sapphyria - who just happens to have a kick butt sidekick named Orange Crush (after my beloved late kitty cat). So, yes...I'm a gamer girl. My husband and I stopped playing WoW a couple years ago and picked up Destiny 2. We began playing WoW again in 2019 when Blizzard re-launched WoW Classic. I haven't created a Sapphyria character yet, though I still have my Sapphyria character in the retail version of the game. Update - Sapphyria now lives in WoW Classic, WoW Burning Crusade WoW Wrath of the Lich King.

Part Three of the story:  I decided that I wanted to try my hand at running a blog. I didn't really want people to know who I was so I decided to name my blog after my WoW character. Plus, it's unique enough of a name to maybe stick with readers, authors, and others. That is how my blogs and promotions company were born.

  1. I am posting comments on book giveaways but they seem to be deleted. Can you explain to me why so I can correct how I am doing it.

  2. Thank you for hosting my book "Sylvie Denied." I'm unable to comment on that page because it mixes up my blog on Wordpress. (Long story). Anyway, I really appreciate it.

  4. Hi Amber, I missed the midnight release of the post so definitely I will be promoting your blog (seems to be the best thing authors can do for you hard-working bloggers and your three! are impressive. I actually have a autumn gig with this book (a three day women's event) in Southern Michigan (I live in New Hampshire) at a center near the Dunes State Park. Thank you so much for hosting Maria and me!

  5. Thanks so much, Amber, for hosting Maria and my book "Death at Fair Havens." I'm late to comment (will you buy "the beagle ate my comment?"-- no? huh). I'm moving and some things I am just forgetting. Not forgetting to give you a great shout-out on my media and appreciate the way your site cross-references so it was easy to see the post, even a day late!.
