Truthful Lies & Bent Realities by Stephen Foehr ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #TruthfulLiesandBentRealities #StephenFoehr #Crime #thriller

Truthful Lies & Bent Realities by Stephen Foehr

A Truly Believed Love Story

 Mystery, Thriller, Crime

Date Published: April 30, 2026

In a time when mythology as propaganda shapes the systems of society and government, two unlikely souls come together to question the reality of it all—what’s going wrong in the world, whether anything’s right, and their own perceptions of honesty, dishonesty, and who they are.

Chillee and Gordie meet in Big Town, where their connection flourishes despite the recognition that they could each be fatal to the identities they’ve created for themselves. Chillee is a realistic idealist, a problem solver who puts her faith in the truth. Gordie, too, is an idealist, but he thrives on uncertainty, posing as a criminal to bring justice to white-collar crimes. They vow to hold one another accountable, to push each other through the steps to being a better person—the best person they’re capable of being.

In Chillee’s neighboring hometown, a county commissioner’s election will determine the fate of the rural community—and unknowingly put relationships to the test. When her best friend Willi asks Chillee to help her run against her ex-husband, she returns to Colton Center with Gordie…who has his own motives in mind.

As the couple continues to work with and against each other, Chillee and Gordie begin to see the deepening cracks in the perceived rights and wrongs of their world. No matter the outcome of the election, life as they knew it may not be the life they continue to lead.

Truthful Lies and Bent Realities is a thought-provoking ride into learning to understand the self and challenge the mind to keep asking the existential questions: Who are we? Who do we think we are? Who do we want to be? And do those identities intersect in the right places?

About the Author:

The Day of Infamy Space Pearl Harbor by Dr. Stewart Nozette ~ @SNozette68202 @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #DayofInfamySpacePearlHarbor #DrStewartNozette #Thiller #SciFi

The Day of Infamy Space Pearl Harbor by Dr. Stewart Nozette

Thriller, Alternative History, Science Fiction, Space Exploration, Espionage, Crime

Date Published: April 30, 2026

About the Book:

In The Day of Infamy - Space Pearl Harbor, a covert Iranian plot threatens to ignite a new era of warfare - not on Earth, but in the heavens. When NASA contractor and double agent David Koestler stumbles upon a seemingly innocuous satellite deal with the fledgling Republic of Tsikistan, he unwittingly uncovers a chilling conspiracy: a disguised orbital weapon designed to annihilate the International Space Station in a catastrophic collision, disguised as a debris accident. As Koestler navigates a labyrinth of espionage, political intrigue, and personal demons - from Huntsville's backroom dealings to Mossad's shadowy operations - time runs out to stop an attack that could cripple global space infrastructure and trigger a devastating conflict. With alliances shifting and traitors lurking at every turn, Koestler must outmaneuver enemies both foreign and domestic before the skies themselves become a battlefield. A gripping techno-thriller blending cutting-edge science, high-stakes espionage, and the specter of a new kind of war, one fought beyond the atmosphere.

About the Author:

Stewart Nozette was sentenced to Federal prison for conspiracy to violate the Espionage Act after he was stung in an undercover operation by an FBI agent posing as an agent for Israel's Mossad. Nozette, an MIT Ph.D. and former White House National Space Council, Departments of Energy, Defense, and NASA scientist, was housed in The Communications Management Unit dubbed "The Guantanamo Bay of the North," with spy Aldrich Ames, Islamic Terrorists and Pirates, including Muse, the star of "Captain Phillips," American Taliban John Walker Lindh, the 1993 World Trade Center Bombers, and the killers of Rabbi Meyer Kahane. Nozette invented the revolutionary Clementine mission, deriving from the Strategic Défense Initiative (SDI), housed in the National Air and Space Museum - the first US lunar return since Apollo; the mission discovered ice on the moon and led to the space race of the twenty-first century.

#BookReview ~ Fury by Heather Atkinson ~ @rararesources @BoldwoodBooks #Gangland #CrimeDrame #Action

Fury

They’re feared in the streets and fury runs in their veins.

The MacGregors don’t back down from a fight—and they never forget a grudge. Known across Glasgow as The Bloody MacGregors, the family built their empire with bare fists and broken rules.

Virgil MacGregor walked away from it all. He wanted peace. A quiet life. No more blood on his hands. But trouble doesn’t care what he wants - and neither do his family.

Now his brothers are working for Toni McVay, the ruthless Queen of Glasgow, and chaos is spilling onto Virgil’s doorstep. Dragged back into the game, he’ll have to fight harder than ever to keep control—of the streets, his brothers, and his fiery estranged wife, Ember, who has unfinished business and a score to settle.

With enemies circling and old wounds reopening, the temperature is rising and the MacGregors are about to face their biggest battle yet.

This time, it’s not just about power—it’s about survival...

My Review:

Fury had me on the edge of my seat from the second Virgil's family showed up unexpectedly to his new sanctuary. He left their empire for a quiet life in a caravan, no longer wishing to be part of anything violent, but it seems his family is unaccepting of this change. Virgil's brothers have gotten in over their heads, and his grandmother, mother, and estranged wife need him to come home and reign them back in and away from trouble. As such, Virgil slowly gets sucked back into the life he wanted so desperately to leave behind.

Fury is a dark and violent crime drama. I was pulled in and kept engaged through the entire story. The grittiness of this gangland novel is not for the faint of heart. The author crafted Virgil's story with precision and terrific writing. Each scene leaves you craving more so be prepared to not want to put this book down until you read the last word. You'll be on the edge of your seat, wondering what the author has coming at you next.

This is my first experience with Heather Atkinson's books, and it won't be my last.

I was provided with a copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Mayhem on Mulberry by Vincent deFilippo Banner

MAYHEM ON MULBERRY

by Vincent deFilippo

October 12 - November 21, 2025 Virtual Book Tour

CHINESE GANGS CLASH WITH THE OLD-SCHOOL ITALIAN "FAMILIES." It's 1990 in New York City. The AIDS pandemic is raging, murder is at an all-time high, an arsonist burns 87 people to death in a Bronx social club, and garbage and graffiti overwhelm the city. Though a sense of lawlessness pervade the city, being a gangster just isn’t the same anymore. In fact, it may be the twilight of the Italian mob: Under pressure from the feds and their loss of new recruits, the real menace facing them is the other ethnic gangs that are encroaching on their territory—in particular the Chinese.

BOOK ONE: RISE OF THE EAST

What if the only way to protect the one you love is to destroy everything you've ever known?

New York City, 1990-a city teetering on the brink of chaos. The AIDS pandemic is ravaging communities, crime is at an all-time high, and the streets pulse with the tension of gang warfare. The once-dominant Italian mafia, now in its twilight, faces a new threat: the rise of ruthless ethnic gangs determined to carve up their territory.

Enzo DeCarlo, heir to a fading mob empire, is caught between two worlds. His father, the old-school Don Vincenzo, clings to the traditions of the past while the DeCarlo family crumbles under pressure from the feds and encroaching Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean gangs. Enzo's loyalty to his family has always been unwavering-until he meets the captivating Jen Mo Li, a woman with secrets as dangerous as her beauty.

Jen, the daughter of a powerful Chinese crime family, is no stranger to the brutal world of organized crime. Overlooked and undervalued by her own family, she fights to prove herself in a male-dominated world, growing colder and more ruthless with each passing day. But when her brother is murdered, and the blame falls on Enzo, Jen's desire for revenge spirals into something far more deadly-especially as her heart betrays her by falling for the enemy.

With tensions between their families at a boiling point and betrayal lurking at every turn, Enzo and Jen's forbidden love becomes a ticking time bomb. When Jen takes control of the notorious Black Dragon gang, the violence escalates to all-out war in Chinatown, with blood flowing in the streets and power shifting hands. But Jen's bold moves come at a terrible cost, and when a tragic mistake links her to a human trafficking operation, she finds herself hunted by both the law and her enemies.

As their worlds spiral out of control, Enzo and Jen are forced to make impossible choices. Can Enzo defy his father and the mafia's brutal code to save Jen and their child? And can Jen survive long enough to claim her throne in the criminal underworld-or will the betrayals she's suffered drive her to a darker fate?

In this explosive tale of love, betrayal, and survival, nothing is certain, and no one is safe. Dive into the pulse-pounding world of gangland New York, where power, loyalty, and love collide. Will Enzo and Jen escape the deadly shadows of their families-or be consumed by them?

The streets are unforgiving. Are you ready to find out who survives?

Praise for Mayhem on Mulberry: Book One: Rise of the East:

"Mayhem on Mulberry is a fast-paced page-turner that readers will not soon forget, and that will appeal to fans of hard-boiled stories and more grounded crime novels alike."
~ Jo Niederhoff, San Francisco Book Review

BOOK 2: FALL OF AN EMPIRE

How far would you go to destroy the ones who wronged you?

In Mayhem on Mulberry: Book Two, the ruthless battle between the Chinese mob and the Italian Mafia rages on—but this time, vengeance runs deeper than blood. It’s 2020, and Jen Mo Li, presumed dead for decades, is very much alive. Back in New York under an assumed identity, Jen has one goal—to annihilate the DeCarlo family. She’s spent years plotting her revenge, using her beautiful daughter, Julia, as the perfect weapon to tear them apart from the inside.

Nicky DeCarlo, son of Enzo, is determined to break free from the fading mob legacy and start fresh. But when Julia, under Jen’s manipulation, seduces him and lures him into a dangerous heist, Nicky’s dreams of escape turn into a nightmare. Unbeknownst to him, Julia is not just an enemy—she’s his sister.

As the Chinese mob tightens its grip on New York, the Italians plan one last high-stakes score, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown. Betrayal, forbidden love, and shocking family secrets collide in a deadly game where no one is safe, and loyalty could prove fatal.

Will Nicky uncover the truth before it’s too late? Or will Jen’s plan for vengeance destroy everything he holds dear?

Dive into this pulse-pounding sequel that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Get your copy today and find out who survives the mayhem!

Praise for Book Two: Fall of an Empire:

"Vincent deFilippo masterfully weaves a tale of power, betrayal, and survival, where every choice cuts deep. With characters who are fierce, flawed, and navigating a world where morality collides with necessity, this isn’t just a story; it’s a riveting, adrenaline rush."

Muzzle the Black Dog by Mike Cobb

As a series of unexplained fires threaten to consume everything he holds dear, Jack is forced to confront his deepest fears and question everything he thought he knew about himself.

Set in the aftermath of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing, Jack’s search for the truth takes him to the edge of sanity and puts him on a collision course with a dark and powerful force that has been lurking in the shadows.

Join Jack on a gripping and thought-provoking quest for answers in this thrilling and suspenseful tale of self-discovery and redemption.

Praise for MUZZLE THE BLACK DOG:

"Muzzle the Black Dog takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and family secrets. The slow reveal is creepy many times but you still want to read page after page. I loved the combination of thriller, drama, history and mystery."
~ Erik S. Meyers, author of The Sally Witherspoon Mystery Series

"A mystery whose plot will transfix you and whose finish will stun you, Muzzle the Black Dog is simply superb. A stranger enters narrator Jack Pate's life and proceeds to upend it through his bizarrely intimate knowledge of Jack's past. In determining the identity of the visitor, Jack solves a deeper mystery within himself, but doing so provokes demons in his soul, demons he'd been holding at since childhood. Author Mike Cobb provides that rare combination of masterly prose, passion, and insight, in an atmosphere dark and chilling as a Georgia winter."
~ Charles Philipp Martin, author of the Inspector Lok novels Rented Grave and Neon Panic

"The pages just fly by in this quick-moving, compelling and stunningly unique psychological thriller about a man searching for answers to a deadly crime who uncovers long-buried secrets about himself and his own troubled past. Muzzle the Black Dog takes the reader on a wonderfully wild roller coaster of a ride filled with plenty of twists, thrills and tension. Mike Cobb has written a terrific book – read it!"
~ R.G. Belsky, author of the Clare Carlson mystery series

"Mike Cobb's Muzzle The Black Dog, is a fast-paced, unputdownable thriller that will leave you guessing until the very end."
~ Westley Smith, author of Some Kind of Truth and In The Pale Light

"Intriguing doesn’t begin to describe the appeal of this book’s premise: a mysterious stranger on the doorstep of recluse Jack Pate, offering friendship and help. Despite Jack’s surprise (he has no need of aid) and suspicion of the disheveled man—who looks more like a vagrant than any friend he would choose—Jack is fascinated. Who is this man, and how did he find Jack’s secluded cabin? And why does he seem to know things about Jack’s uneasy past?
Just as suddenly as the stranger appears, he vanishes, leading Jack on an odyssey, beginning as a physical search but quickly morphing into self-preservation as reports of heinous local crimes trickle in. Arson and murders begin to stain the remote countryside, and the suspects are few and far-between.
Sneaky clues, well-drawn characters, and swift plotting propel the story forward as the author deftly explores the many ways the past affects the present—and how it might endanger the future. I highly recommend this one."
~ Jennifer Sadera, author of I Know She Was There

"A slow burn of a story revealing the power of deeply held secrets. Secrets so earthshaking that Jack Pate questions everything he believed when a mysterious stranger knows everything about him. Moody and atmospheric."
~ James L’Etoile, award-winning author of River of Lies and the Detective Nathan Parker series

“Is that music playing in your office? You never listen to music at work?”

“I do on rare occasions.”

“That’s Alice Merton. How are you even aware of her music?” Erica asks, gobsmacked.

“I’m not, but I met Detective Torres at a Starbucks this morning and it was playing, and I liked it. I asked a Gen Z barista who the artist was and played it when I got in,” James says.

“I’m in shock.”

“I’m evolving,” James says, his words interrupted by the playing of the Johnny Rivers hit “Secret Agent Man” from his cell phone. “Alexa, off. Tim, hi, thanks for calling back. Erica is here with some information to share.”

“Hi, Erica. What’s going on?” Tim says.

“After we left the jail today, I went back to the office to work, and a few minutes ago, Belmonte called me to tell me that the DEA had been quote, ‘Requested,’ end quote to refrain from investigating or prosecuting Javier and that Javier was being moved to a different facility. Belmonte said the directive apparently came from the DNI. He called me from a burner phone and suggested we keep the circle of information as small as possible,” Erica explains.

“Holy crap,” Tim says.

“Any idea who could have that kind of juice?” James asks.

“None in particular,” Tim says.

“You didn’t tell anyone about meeting Javier?” Erica asks.

“Of course not,” Tim replies.

“Then how did anyone—” Erica begins.

“I have no idea,” Tim interrupts.

“One thing seems certain,” James says. “Aguilar was spot on. It is bigger than we knew.”

About the Book:

Hookers and hawkers.
Mosques and mosquitos.
Paul has had enough of Southeast Asia.
He's only here ‘cos it's cheap.
He's on the run from police after leaving Australia.
No, that place wasn't much better either.
Well, it was when he was young.
When his life was full of promise. An up-and-coming boxer. And he had friends. And fun.
Then a bit of bad luck later and he found himself on the run in outback Australia. Paranoid. Hiding from shadows. The heat. The dust. The sweat.

Next stop, Southeast Asia.

Read an Excerpt:

He wondered again if they would come for him tonight. The hotel porter and counter staff were looking at him suspiciously when he last went out for food. Or was he just looking at them weird? If they came for him tonight, for which crime would they come? Would it be Interpol? What he did to the man in Bali might warrant that. He didn’t feel too bad about that one because he was only some fag who came onto him after seeing him in Kuta one night when Paul was hungry and standing alone in the darkness. The man asked if he was ok and invited him back to his house and made dinner. Paul knew his old coach would be ashamed that he had beaten the man, not to mention taken his money. He saw his coach in his mind again - this time holding pads for him in the ring. If only Paul had made more money from boxing, then he would never have had to come to Asia. He never would have been standing hungry and lost and standing with street dogs and feeling like a failure. That was the worst moment in Paul’s life and he didn’t want to remember it again.

Like most people, Bud Palmer felt this was just another day. Though the era was drawing to a close, he assumed his life as a sports columnist in the subtropics, in keeping with the benign fifties itself, would go on as predictable as ever. But that particular autumn morning he was thrust into a caper that was totally beyond him, forced him to leave Miami and take the train to Manhattan, and suddenly found everything in this restless "Big Apple" was up for grabs, on the brink, at a dicey turning point.
Read an Excerpt:

The looming billboards were so massive, in contrast the Times Square sign jutting out of the lamppost was totally eclipsed. As if it might have been a relic from a long-ago era before everything had given way. Here, high above the rooftops to Bud’s right, was a massive Pepsi bottle doing its best to block out the sky, not to be outdone by an equally outsized bottle top on its side. Further ahead as the Square verged into a tip of a triangle, other billboards joined the fray, starting with a domineering Admiral Television and Appliances sign, topped by a Canadian Club whiskey sign, topped by a Chevrolet sign. All but eclipsed, a lesser billboard around the corner advertised the musical West Side Story—the very same black-and-white logo with the girl ecstatically racing by the tenements pulling her boyfriend along. Other logos and marquees took part by marking the street entrances to buildings so that the Statler Hotel sign didn’t stand a chance.

At the same time, fighting off the prospect of becoming overwhelmed, Bud couldn’t help wondering if Amy had been among the rushing pedestrians who had gotten off the buses and trains. Had they too gotten wind of small town dreams—that legendary call of the lady carnival barker promising never-ending opportunities?

About the Author:

Mark Towse is an English horror writer living in Australia. He would sell his soul to the devil or anyone buying if it meant he could write full-time. The Graveyard Killings by Wes Markin - The Yorkshire Murders, Book 4) ~ #CrimeThriller ~ @rararesources

The Graveyard Killings

A decades old case....

When the body of a young girl is found exhumed from her grave, DCI Emma Gardner knows there’s more to this grisly find than just misadventure. Penny Maiden was killed in a hit and run accident forty years ago, and her killer was never found…Could someone be trying to right an old wrong?

A DI on the rails...

Determined to bring a dangerous gang of drug dealers to justice, DI Paul Riddick is trying hard to play by the rules. After his previous reckless actions, he knows this is his last chance to stay in the job he loves. But when his private life takes an unexpected turn, Riddick begins to lose control again.

Emma needs Paul to help her with her case, especially when more bodies are found in the same graveyard. But hurt badly by Riddick once before, Emma's not sure she can trust him again.

But as Paul’s behaviour begins to spiral even more, Emma worries she may have left it far too late to save her old friend Riddick from his own destruction...

My Review:

The Graveyard Killings if the fourth book in The Yorkshire Murders. I have not read the previous books but I felt this book worked well as a standalone. There were some things I didn't understand but that's my fault for starting a series in book four and not at book one. I'm not one to penalize an author because I failed to do my research.

Bouncing between 1980 and 2023, The Graveyard Killings intertwines. The body of a young hit-and-run victim is exhumed and placed on a nearby grave. In the grave of the recently exhumed is the body of someone else. CDI Emma Gardner finds that she needs the help of self-destructive DI Paul Riddick. DI Paul Riddick is trying, and failing, to color between the lines, in his attempt to bring down a gang of drug dealers. As Emma and Paul dance around their connection, pieces of the puzzle connecting their cases together become evident.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. The first flashback to 1980 evoked strong emotions, especially at the very end before switching to 2023. The Graveyard Killings is a suspenseful crime thriller with two seemingly separate cases - a cold case and a drug case - with unexpected ties. There are so many twist, turns, and shocking events and the author did a magnificent job weaving everything together and then systematically unraveling it all in a dramatic and exciting fashion.

I was provided a copy of this book.
