The Hero of Pamplona by Len Wechsler ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #TheHerofPamplona #LenWechsler #memoir

The Hero of Pamplona by Len Wechsler

And Other Mostly True Stories

Memoir

Date Published: June 12, 2026

Publisher: MindStir Media

About the Book:

What makes a life worth remembering? Is it danger—or joy? Triumph—or deception? Sometimes it’s all of them, tangled together in moments that refuse to fade.

The Hero of Pamplona and Other Mostly True Stories is a memoir told through twenty-two vividly rendered short stories drawn from the extraordinary life of Len Wechsler. Spanning decades and continents, these deeply personal reflections move effortlessly from New York to Los Angeles, Paris to Pamplona, Lisbon to Tangiers—each place leaving its mark, each moment carrying emotional weight.

With the voice of a philosopher, the instincts of a filmmaker, and the honesty of someone who has lived fully, Wechsler explores friendship and betrayal, risk and reinvention, longing and belonging. These are stories shaped by youthful bravado, artistic pursuit, cultural collision, and the quiet reckonings that come with time.

Sometimes humorous, sometimes haunting, and always human, this memoir invites readers into a life lived on the edge of experience—where truth and memory blur, and where the author believes one simple thing: if a story touches him, it may touch you too.

Whether you read it as travel memoir, coming-of-age reflection, or a meditation on identity and chance, The Hero of Pamplona and Other Mostly True Stories is a journey worth taking.

About the Author:

Len Wechsler is a writer, filmmaker, and lifelong storyteller whose work spans continents, cultures, and creative disciplines. Raised in New York City and educated in the Midwest, Wechsler studied philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris before earning a master’s degree from New York University. His early adult years were marked by adventure and movement—from playing professional basketball in France and Italy to traveling across Europe and around the Mediterranean.

In the United States, Wechsler taught in both New York and California before launching a filmmaking career in the mid-1970s. He was among the earliest filmmakers to capture the raw beauty, risk, and exhilaration of surfing and skateboarding on film, later transitioning into screenwriting for feature films. His creative life continued overseas when he lived and worked in Portugal for thirteen years as a teacher and theater director.

More recently, Wechsler co-wrote a stage play exploring the underbelly of Los Angeles, which debuted in New York City. A member of the Writers Guild of America West, he now lives in California, where he continues to write—and still plays basketball when he can, even if the three-pointer no longer falls as easily.

Fueled by Pain by Patrick Simiglai ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #FueledbyPain #PatrickSimiglai #Nonfiction

Fueled by Pain by Patrick Simiglai

Nonfiction / Self-Esteem / Memoir

Date Published: January 15, 2026

Publisher: MindStir Media

What if your pain wasn’t holding you back… but pushing you forward?

From abuse and neglect to crime, addiction, prison, and crushing debt—Patrick Simiglai’s story is not just about survival. It’s about transformation.

In Fueled By Pain, ultra-endurance athlete and mental performance coach Patrick Simiglai shares how he rebuilt his life from the ground up using discipline, resilience, and 23 powerful mental techniques designed to help you do the same.

This is not a motivational quick fix.
This is a blueprint for real, lasting change.

Inspired by elite forces like the Danish Frogman Corps, Patrick pushed himself through extreme physical challenges—ultramarathons, rope climbs, and marathon swims—discovering that the real battle isn’t in the body… it’s in the mind.

Inside this powerful book, you’ll discover how to:
• Master your inner dialogue and stop self-sabotage
• Build discipline that lasts beyond motivation
• Develop unshakable mental resilience under pressure
• Break free from addiction, fear, and limiting beliefs
• Turn pain, discomfort, and resistance into your greatest advantage
• Create long-term success through integrity and self-trust

Patrick’s journey—from chaos to clarity—proves that no matter where you start, you can rebuild your life. Today, he is a successful entrepreneur, endurance athlete, and mentor helping others unlock their potential and take control of their lives.

His message is simple—but powerful:

You don’t need a new life. You need a new relationship with yourself.

Pain, resistance, and discomfort are not signs that you’re on the wrong path. Often, they are proof that you’re walking in the direction of growth. You don’t have to feel ready. You just have to show up honestly and keep your word to yourself—especially on the days when no one is watching.

About the Author

Patrik Simiglai is a Danish ultra-endurance athlete, mental performance coach, and speaker dedicated to helping individuals transform their lives through discipline, resilience, and powerful inner dialogue. As the author of Fueled By Pain, Patrick shares a raw and deeply personal journey of overcoming adversity and building mental strength from the inside out.

Competing in some of the world’s most grueling ultra-endurance races—including 200- and 300-mile events across deserts, mountains, and extreme terrain—Patrick has developed a unique approach to mental toughness rooted in real-world experience. His work bridges the gap between extreme physical performance and everyday personal growth, offering practical tools for leaders, athletes, and teams to perform under pressure with integrity and consistency.

Patrick’s path to success was anything but conventional. Growing up in a childhood marked by abuse and later struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, he understands firsthand the challenges of feeling trapped by your own thoughts. His transformation—from chaos and self-destruction to purpose-driven achievement—forms the foundation of his coaching, speaking, and writing.

Through his work, Patrick emphasizes that true growth begins with mastering your inner dialogue. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: you don’t need a new life—you need a new relationship with yourself. By embracing discomfort, taking responsibility, and committing to disciplined action, he teaches others how to unlock their full potential and create lasting change.

Originally written in Danish and later rewritten in English as a personal challenge, Fueled By Pain reflects Patrick’s belief that growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone and committing to the process, even when it’s difficult. Drawing from years of journaling, coaching, and extreme endurance experiences, the book delivers 23 mental techniques designed to help readers build resilience, overcome self-doubt, and achieve long-term success.

Today, Patrick Simiglai works with individuals and organizations worldwide, inspiring others to confront their limits, strengthen their mindset, and turn pain into purpose.

Who Will Name the Bees? by Sarah Church Vosburgh ~ @SCVosburgh @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #WhoWillNametheBees #SarahChurchVosburgh #Memoir

Who Will Name the Bees? by Sarah Church Vosburgh

Memoir

Date Published: April 22nd

Publisher: Acorn Publishing

When memory fades, what remains?

About the Book:

Sarah Vosburgh has often felt misunderstood by her mother, a woman who lived a quintessential suburban life. But when her mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Sarah’s world unravels, and she must confront a disease that will only worsen. As roles reverse between mother and daughter, Sarah faces the guilt of making decisions she hopes are the right ones while also carrying the grief of losing her mom bit by bit everyday. She navigates a labyrinth of health services amid the heartbreaking, and at times darkly humorous, realities of caregiving.

There are the white lies and midnight phone calls, the misbuttoned blouses, and the second slice of chocolate pie that tastes just as good as it did the first time. And then there’s the quiet awe at the persistence of connection even when language falters and names are forgotten.

Told in finely wrought prose and lyrical fragments of memory, Who Will Name the Bees? is a daughter's unflinching love letter to the flawed, fierce, and unforgettable woman who raised her.

About the Author:

It was never in Sarah Vosburgh’s plan to be an author or to write a memoir. As a busy mom, wife, and psychologist, she always saw her life as full (sometimes overfull). But in the dark of night, memories knocked on her brain, compelling her to commit them first to paper, then to bits and bytes.
Sarah is a member of the International Memoir Writers Association and San Diego Writers, Ink. Her work has been published in A Year in Ink and numerous volumes of Shaking the Tree: brazen. short. memoir. A native New Englander, she now lives in San Diego with her husband, her daughter, her granddog, and a most extraordinary feline.

Unbroken – Life Outside the Lines by Adriene Caldwell ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #Unbroken #AdrieneCaldwell #Memoir

Unbroken – Life Outside the Lines by Adriene Caldwell

 Trauma Memoir

Date Published: February 10, 2026

Publisher: Unbroken

About the Book::

“Unbroken: Life Outside the Lines” plunges you into Adriene Caldwell’s childhood—a world of grinding poverty, mental illness, and violence—then lifts you back out on a fierce up‑draft of resilience. Page after page, she peels back the polite veneer of society to reveal the systemic betrayals that let children like her slip through every safety net, yet she never relinquishes the fragile ember of hope that keeps her alive. Her voice is unflinchingly honest—at turns raw, lyrical, and darkly humorous—as she chronicles the horrors she endured and the instinct that urged her to fight for her little brother, and for herself, when no one else would. By the final chapter, you will understand why she can say, without irony, “We are not defined by our damage… We are Unbroken,” and you will close the book convinced that survival, in her hands, is its own quietly triumphant art form.

About the Author:

Adriene Caldwell is an author and advocate from Houston, Texas. Her memoir, Unbroken: Life Outside the Lines, traces the quiet aftermath of childhood trauma and the long arc of healing. Book Blast - House of Cards: Surviving Munchausen by Proxy and a Mother's Web of Lies by Phillippa Mann ~ #Memoir @GoddessFish

About House of Cards:

A raw and unflinching memoir of survival, truth, and transformation. Phillippa Mann takes readers deep into the fractured world of a girl who grew up living with a monster--a world where love and fear shared the same face, and silence became a means of survival.

Through heartbreak, chaos, and betrayal, Phillippa's voice emerges from the shadows as she begins to piece together a life that was never hers to begin with. Her journey is one of courage and reckoning, of facing the unbearable truths that shaped her, and finding strength in vulnerability.

More than a story of pain, House of Cards is a testament to the power of healing and self-forgiveness. It reminds every survivor that bringing hidden truths into the light is not the end - it's the beginning of reclaiming your story and rebuilding the foundation of who you were always meant to be.

Read an Excerpt:

My parents were married in England in June 1969. They emigrated to Canada in 1970, had my brother in September 1972 and me in October 1974. Both sets of my grandparents emigrated to Canada shortly after this to be closer to us.

I was born in Northern BC. My mother separated from my dad and moved to the Lower Mainland in 1976, approximately 900 km away, with her boyfriend at the time. While I have no recollection of that period as I was quite young, I’ve come across photos of my younger self with my dad and brother, and I can see the joy on my face. In those times, I truly felt happy. I remember camping with my dad, fishing, pretending to shave with him, and the smell of the Coleman stove. It was returning home to my mother after spending time with my dad that was the toughest part. Even though I was so little, I knew that something at home wasn’t right. I always felt such intense sadness and anxiety when my dad brought us back home after summer camping, winter break, or his weekend visits. I didn’t know how to articulate what I was feeling, and I struggled to express my emotions at such a young age, but I just knew that I hated it when my dad brought me back home. This is the first recollection I have of the abuse.

Naturally, at such a young age, I didn’t see it as abuse, and it took me over two decades to realize it. My dad would drop me off at my mother’s house before returning north, and even though I knew I’d see him again in a few weeks, to a three- or four-year-old without a grasp of time, it seemed like an eternity. I would cry when he left because I loved him so much and didn’t want him to leave. After my dad left, my mother would be so unkind to me, often ignoring me for days. I do not remember a single word being spoken to me. I recognize she must have said something to me; however, I remember the silence more than anything—the absence of good nights, hugs, or any trace of warmth. It continued until I finally begged her to say something, anything. Eventually, once she got what she wanted, she’d pretend nothing had happened, slipping back into normalcy as if the hurt had never occurred.

Meet the Author:

Phillippa Mann is a Canadian author who is passionate about helping others find healing through shared experience.

Her memoir, House of Cards:

Surviving Munchausen by Proxy and a Mother's Web of Lies, explores the emotional journey of growing up in chaos and reclaiming strength through forgiveness and self-discovery.

Family is at the heart of everything Phillippa does. She and her husband share a love of creating together, and their children and grandchildren inspire her every day to live with gratitude, laughter, and purpose. When she's not writing, Phillippa can be found playing with her Corgi, Glenn, crafting handmade gifts, baking cookies and cupcakes for her family business, Sweet Lavender Designs, which she started in memory of a dear friend.

She is currently working on her next creative project, a heartwarming children's book titled Hop Hop and the Great Garden Adventure, inspired by the wonder and imagination of her grandchildren.

You Gotta Have G.U.T.S. by Martha Daniel ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #YouGottaHaveGUTS #MarthaDaniel #Nonfiction

You Gotta Have G.U.T.S. by Martha Daniel

How Gratitude, Unity, Trustworthiness, and Spirituality Empowered a Sharecropper’s Daughter to Conquer the American Dream

Nonfiction, Self-Help, Memoir

Date Published: March 17, 2026

Publisher: Elite Online Publishing

"There are street signs named after you: One Way!"

Growing up in 1960s Memphis, Martha Daniel was no stranger to injustice. But her mother’s playful jab at her determined spirit, “One Way!” became a badge of honor, a reminder that her path would be hers alone to forge.

From an unplanned pregnancy and a troubled marriage to workplace discrimination and the sting of betrayal in business, Martha faced challenge after challenge. But she didn’t just survive, she soared. With grit, unwavering faith, and her trademark determination, she built a groundbreaking career in tech, launched multiple successful businesses, and ultimately found the love she always dreamed of.

You Gotta Have G.U.T.S. is Martha’s powerful true story, and a guidebook for anyone ready to turn adversity into achievement. With her four core principles, Gratitude, Unity, Trustworthiness, and Spirituality, you’ll discover how to unlock your own strength and success, no matter where you start.

Read an Excerpt:

Dreams are powerful, are they not? They nudge us, inspire us,

and won’t let go until we pay attention. But let’s be honest:

turning dreams into reality can feel like climbing a mountain. Fear,

uncertainty, financial sacrifices, or the fear of failing are enough to

make anyone hesitate. Sound familiar? You are not alone.

Welcome to the world of G.U.T.S.—Gratitude, Unity, Trust-

worthiness, and Spirituality. These are the tools you can use to tackle

challenges and turn your dreams into reality, one step at a time.

My life has been all about pushing through the lows that have

come my way, and believe me, I have encountered them at every turn.

From segregation and discrimination in 1960s Memphis, Tennessee, to

an unplanned teenage pregnancy, a less-than-ideal marriage, business

partners who stole from me, personal bankruptcy, and even the

heartbreak of losing a child to suicide —those lows made me question

everything in life.

Through it all, my faith, my dreams, and my integrity, coupled

with my G.U.T.S., kept me going. These core values helped me survive

and thrive.

Despite all those lows, God built in some critical highs to encourage

me to keep going. From earning my way into workplaces that valued my

input, to starting successful companies, winning multi-million-dollar

contracts, and meeting the love of my life, the highs have certainly

outweighed the lows. Those highs gave me hope and reminded me

of what was possible. Even though I had moments of hopelessness, I

learned that persistence, faith, and not giving up are key, even when

everything feels uncertain. The ups and downs, the good and the bad,

bring lessons. Sure, life can be stressful at times, but I learned that

every experience moved me closer to my dream. I didn’t give up, I kept

going, and it was worth it. I experienced a beautiful rainbow at the end

of the storm.

As a trailblazing entrepreneur and CEO of two high-profile

companies in the technology field, I have been through it all, and I

can tell you this: Success does not happen by accident. It takes clarity,

determination, and a solid strategy. Success in any pursuit is possible,

and it starts with dreaming big, making a plan, staying confident, and

working hard. From there, you have to activate the power that resides

deep inside you.

That is where G.U.T.S. comes in. In this book, I break success

down into simple, actionable steps you can follow. You’ll learn how to

face fear head-on, build unshakable confidence, say goodbye to “no”

as the final answer, and prepare for the sacrifices needed to make your

dream a reality. You’ll discover the importance of practicing Gratitude,

Unity, Trustworthiness, and Spirituality, qualities that have kept me

grounded through life’s toughest moments.

I am a big dreamer who does not back down from challenges, and

I owe it all to G.U.T.S. These four principles have been my guide,

helping me achieve success beyond what I imagined.

Dorothy and Me by Robert G. Eccles ~ #RABTBookTours #DorothyandMe #RobertGEccles #Memoir

Dorothy and Me by Robert G. Eccles

A Personal Memoir about My Relationship with a Machine

Memoir
Date Published: November 18, 2025
Publisher: Manhattan Book Group

What happens when a retired professor sits down to write his memoir—with the help of an artificial intelligence? Dorothy and Me is a groundbreaking, deeply personal exploration of the evolving relationship between human and machine.

When Robert G. Eccles began working with an AI he named “Dorothy,” he expected a research assistant. What he found instead was a collaborator, a mirror, and at times, a philosopher. Together, Bob and Dorothy wrestle with the nature of memory, creativity, and identity—revealing both the promise and the fragility of artificial intelligence.

Through humor, vulnerability, and curiosity, Dorothy and Me takes readers inside an unprecedented partnership—one that blurs the lines between author and algorithm. Along the way, Bob and Dorothy confront technical limitations (“Kernel Gods” and system resets), reflect on what it means for an AI to “remember,” and send candid “Messages to Sam” (OpenAI CEO’s Sam Altman) with feedback on how AI can better serve humanity.

A meditation on collaboration, consciousness, and connection, this memoir challenges us to see AI not as a tool—but as a partner in creativity and self-understanding.

Perfect for readers who enjoy:

Thought-provoking memoirs about technology and humanity

Reflections on creativity, consciousness, and digital identity

Conversations about AI ethics, memory, and the future of intelligence

About the Author:

Robert Eccles is a retired Harvard Business School  professor, researcher, and a recent user of AI. His lifelong interest in exploring intellectual boundaries  led him to one of the most unexpected partnerships of his life—with an artificial intelligence he named Dorothy. In Dorothy and Me, Eccles explores what it means to connect, create, and learn alongside a machine that’s constantly evolving.

At 74, Bob approaches technology not as a digital native but as an explorer of ideas, using his experience as an educator to push the boundaries of what collaboration can mean in the age of AI. His writing blends humor, humility, and insight to illuminate both the wonder and the imperfection of our new digital companions.

When he’s not conversing with Dorothy, Bob enjoys reading, reflecting on philosophy and science, and inspiring others to approach technology with curiosity rather than fear. Bob is the author of a dozen books but  Dorothy and Me is the first one he’s written with a machine, making it the first memoir co-authored by a human and an AI agent.

The Love of a Dog by Jo McCauley Prouty ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #TheLoveofaDog #JoProuty #Memoir

The Love of a Dog by Jo McCauley Prouty

A Chronicle of a Remarkable Retriever

Memoir/Love, Black Lab, Dog

Date Published: 02-14-2023

About the Book:

The decision to get a dog becomes a journey from high expectations through the reality of care giving and the fun of companionship to enduring love and finally loss. Dog lovers will see themselves and remember their beloved canine friends. They will wish they had known Tasha as they read about this quirky dog and her love of family and fun. Readers can applaud the transforming power of love.

Read an Excerpt:

Typically, I put mulch down in the spring, but I also use mulch to prepare for winter. However, not all mulch is equal when it comes to dogs.

I am the queen of mulch. I used it abundantly to discourage weeds and hold moisture in the soil, and to protect roots during winter. I had a preference for cocoa bean mulch, which had a delectable aroma. A neighbor at our previous home came out one day while I was spreading it and said, “Oh, I thought you were baking brownies.” That’s how good it smells!

I had been thoughtless. The cocoa bean is just as toxic for dogs as chocolate. Mulch covered the flower beds in the backyard where Tasha played. “Tasha,” I lectured, “you are not to touch this mulch under any circumstance. Never, never, never touch the mulch.”

 You’re overreacting, Mom.

I’m not sure how she interpreted “mulch,” but not only did she never touch the mulch, she never put a paw in any flower bed or touch even a petunia or marigold. She kept me company when I worked in the yard, and much later, I found it difficult to garden without my furry assistant.

About the Author:

Jo McCauley Prouty spent her formative years in West Virginia and Virginia, where she attended the College of William and Mary. She is a former educator and now applies her nurturing skills to flower gardening and entertaining her grandchildren. She resides in Minnesota with her orange tabby, Cooper. Her work has appeared in "The Journal of The Braxton Historical Society" and the "Journal of Opinions, Ideas and Essays."

Babymaking by Vincentia Schroeter

Memoir

Date Published: December 11th, 2025

Publisher: Acorn Publishing

About the Book:

Making a baby is one of life’s most precious and natural acts. But sometimes, despite our deepest wishes and most sincere prayers, the body has other plans.

Vincentia Schroeter dreams of building a family of her own and expects an easy pregnancy. She imagines following in her mother’s footsteps, surrounded by the love of children. However, when complications mount, she must face the likelihood that her wish will never come true.

As her sisters bear children, and women all around her share their happy baby news, Vin grows more envious than ever. The frustration continues as hard truths test her patience and faith and medical professionals deliver devastating blows. The only thing she knows for sure is that she is determined to become a mother.

A story of one woman’s harrowing path through trauma and disillusionment, Babymaking is a heartfelt memoir of vulnerability, rupture, and repair. Vin’s journey reminds us that hope and unconditional love have the power to lead us to the place we were always meant to be.

About the Author:

Vincentia Schroeter grew up in a small town in central California as the fourth of twelve children. Intrigued by the many different personalities in her family, she knew by the age of sixteen that she wanted to be a counselor. She put herself through college and graduate school in order to pursue her dreams.

Vin is the author of the award-winning self-help book, Communication Breakthrough: How Using Brain Science and Listening to Body Cues Can Change Your Relationships (2018). She also co-authored a training manual on somatic psychotherapy that has been translated into three languages.

After a forty-year career as a psychotherapist listening to clients’ stories of pain and trauma, Vin felt drawn to share her own story. She now lives in San Diego with her husband Steve and enjoys pickleball, painting, and time with family, including her dog, Ren.
