Intercessor by John Robert Still ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #Intercessor #JohnRobertStill #Christian #Suspense

Intercessor by John Robert Still

Spiritual Thriller/Supernatural Suspense with Catholic themes.
Date Published: February 13, 2023
Publisher: Covenant Books

What if the storm chasing you isn’t the one outside… but the one within?

About the Book:

Set in the shadow-soaked streets of New Orleans, Intercessor is a gripping faith-infused thriller that blends supernatural suspense with profound spiritual reflection.

Jim Hampton is a burned-out lawyer who walks away from his high-stakes career in search of peace. Drawn to the mystique of the Crescent City, he hopes distance will quiet his doubts and regrets. Instead, as a tropical storm intensifies into a devastating hurricane, Jim finds himself trapped in a far more dangerous tempest—one filled with demonic forces, divine intervention, and a battle for his soul.

Guided by the enigmatic bartender Myriam, Jim is forced to confront his lapsed Catholic faith amid blackouts, chases through the French Quarter, and encounters that defy logic and reason. As darkness closes in and evil tightens its grip, Jim must decide whether redemption is truly possible—or if some storms are meant to destroy.

Near the novel’s stunning climax, a miraculous event inspired by the legendary “dancing sun” at Fatima transforms terror into revelation, reminding readers that grace can break through even the deepest despair.

Perfect for readers who enjoy:

● Faith-driven thrillers with spiritual depth

● Supernatural suspense rooted in real-world belief

● Stories of redemption, miracles, and personal awakening

● Atmospheric settings rich with culture and mystery

Intercessor is more than a thriller—it’s a powerful reminder that in life’s darkest moments, hope may arrive in ways we least expect.

👉 Pick up Intercessor today and discover how grace can guide you through the storm.

About the Author:

John Robert Still is a lawyer based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the author of the faith-infused thriller Intercessor. Drawn to stories that explore suspense, spirituality, and the search for meaning, John writes fiction that wrestles honestly with faith, redemption, and the mysteries that shape our lives.

Intercessor is his debut novel, inspired by visits to New Orleans and a fascination with the city’s rich culture, history, and spiritual contrasts. His writing journey began as a deeply personal exploration of life’s harder questions—particularly around belief, purpose, and grace—and evolved over several years into a gripping supernatural thriller shaped by thoughtful revision and early reader feedback.

When he’s not practicing law or writing, John enjoys a wide range of hands-on pursuits, including beekeeping, bonsai cultivation, growing tobacco and rolling his own cigars, and cooking—especially Cajun and Creole cuisine. These passions reflect the same patience, craftsmanship, and respect for tradition that inform his storytelling.

#BookReview ~ The Croatian Island Library by Eva Glyn ~ @JaneCable @rararesources #Contemporary #Friendship #Croatia

The Croatian Island Library by Eva Glyn

About the Book:

Where books are borrowed, and friendships are forged…

When her beloved grandfather dies, Ana MeÅ¡trović buys a catamaran in his memory, which she names Dida Krila – Grandad’s Wings.

For the summer months, it will be transformed into a travelling library, delivering books to children living across the Croatian islands.

Joined by crew members Natali, a young mechanic afraid of her own shadow, and Lloyd, an older widower who needs a fresh start, the newly-formed trio all have their own reasons for needing the floating library to be a success.

Embarking on an adventure that will change them for good, they each discover that a new chapter is only a boat ride away…

My Review:

The Croatian Island Library is a wonderful and captivating novel. I loved the nautical library concept. Everyone should have the opportunity to read and in low population areas surrounded by water? A pop-up-library is amazing.

Even more amazing is the cast of characters. Three completely different personalities, capabilities, and backgrounds. I loved getting to know Ana, Natali, and Lloyd. Obi, Natali's dog, steals the spotlight several times throughout.

There are spectacular character introductions, backgrounds, and development. I love how the relationship between Ana, Natali, and Lloyd blossoms. Things start out awkward but the author takes all of them on journey of self-discovery, leading them to wonderful friendship.

I loved visiting Croatia (I have Croatian heritage) in this novel. The pages are filled with beautiful descriptions, vivid imagery, and spectacular would-building. I enjoyed being in this world and meeting Ana, Natali, Lloyd, and Obi.

I was provided with a copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Meet the  Author:

Eva Glyn writes escapist relationship-driven fiction with a kernel of truth at its heart. She loves to travel and finds inspiration in beautiful places and the stories they hide.

Set mainly in Croatia, her contemporary stories are more about friendship than romance, the coming together of people through shared interests, and the opportunity to make fresh starts in their lives. A love of books is a common theme too, so her publisher, One More Chapter, has christened them the Bookish Escapes collection which currently includes The Dubrovnik Book Club, and The Santorini Writing Retreat, with The Croatian Island Library to be published in January 2026.

In addition Eva has written two Second World War dual timeline romances, An Island of Secrets and The Collaborator’s Daughter, and a new beginnings novel entitled The Olive Grove. All are set in Croatian, a country she loves.

Although she considers herself Welsh, Eva lives in Cornwall with the man she met and fell in love with more than thirty years ago. She also writes as Jane Cable.

Operation Cast Lead – The Case by Banafsheh Zia ~ @revealCastLead @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #OperationCastLead #BanafshehZia #Nonfiction

Operation Cast Lead – The Case by Banafsheh Zia

Nonfiction

Date Published: 08-28-2025

Publisher: Tellwell

About the Book:

Ambiguity has been the story of our era since Operation Cast Lead. The author found herself in the middle of ambiguous theme, dialogue, plot, and portrayal while engaging with a love story on General Hospital in 2008/2009. There was the question mark about the female character: Was she going to be humiliated?

Operation Cast Lead ensued as a mechanism to decide the fate and resolution of this question. The author was conflicted as her tendency to humiliate herself in her fantasies interfered with how she interpreted the story and how she responded to it while Operation Cast Lead unfolded, a war that took place between Hamas and IDF at the climax of the story of Sonny and Kate.

What was the truth of this connection? Why has Gaza been held hostage to this story ever since? What’s the way forward for Israelis and Palestinians? What’s the way forward for humanity?

The book argues that Operation Cast Lead was a design, and attempts to place the case within the current framework of international law while acknowledging that there are fundamental flaws in this framework and that there should be transformation at the foundation of international law for humanity to have a breakthrough and realize true freedom.

This book reveals a secret about history. A secret that would explain why the conflict in the Middle East has not met its resolution. As well as the conflict at the core of humanity.

Adélaïde by Janell Strube ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #Adélaïde #JanellStrube #HistoricalFiction

Adélaïde by Janell Strube

Painter of the Revolution

Historical Fiction

Date Published: January 13, 2026

Publisher: Acorn Publishing

About the Book:

In a world where women are seen but rarely heard, Adélaïde Labille-Guiard refuses to be silenced.

The daughter of Parisian shopkeepers, Adélaïde dreams not of marriage or titles but of earning a place among the masters of French art. With Queen Marie Antoinette on the throne and a spirit of change in the air, anything seems possible. But as revolution brews and powerful forces conspire to deny her success, Adélaïde faces an impossible choice: protect her life—or fight for a legacy that will outlast her.

Inspired by the true story of one of the first women admitted to the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture, Adélaïde: Painter of the Revolution is a sweeping, evocative portrait of ambition, courage, and resilience in the face of history’s fiercest storm.

About the Author:

Janell Strube makes a mean barbecue sauce. She’s also a world traveler, a baker, and a bicyclist. But when she writes, her identity as an adoptee often steers her attention to topics of alienation, erased history, and displacement.

In 2024, a personal essay of hers was published in the anthology Adoption and Suicidality. Her work has also appeared in Shaking the Tree: brazen. short. memoir and A Year in Ink. Her short memoir, “Taking my Blonde Daughter to a Black Lives Matter Rally,” was selected for the 2020 San Diego Memoir Showcase, an annual live storytelling event.

While much of her writing is personal, she enjoys the freedom that comes with crafting fiction. Her desire to learn about forgotten female artists who shaped the French revolutionary period motivated her to write Adélaïde: Painter of the Revolution.

When not crunching numbers as a tax executive for a hotel chain, she can be found hanging out with Shiloh the Wheaten and plotting her second book.

Overcome Addiction by Majid Ali ~ @RABTBookTours #RABTBookTours #OvercomeAddiction #MajidAli #Nonfiction #SelfHelp

Overcome Addiction by Majid Ali

Self-Help

Date Published: December 17, 2025

 About the Book:

Overcome Addiction Through Meditation, Fasting and Stress Management offers a clear, grounded and deeply practical path for anyone determined to break free from a harmful addictive cycle. Instead of relying on willpower alone, this book guides you toward strengthening the mind, restoring balance to the brain, and reducing cravings at their source.

Addiction is not a fixed state - it is a challenge that can be overcome with the right tools. Here, you will learn how three simple, accessible practices, meditation, fasting and stress management, work together to rebalance the five key neurotransmitters disrupted by addiction: dopamine, serotonin, GABA, glutamate and norepinephrine. By restoring this balance, the brain becomes calmer, clearer and far more capable of resisting impulsive urges and compulsive cravings.

Through straightforward explanations and real-world examples, the book shows:

• Why meditation elevates dopamine, serotonin and GABA to reduce cravings and strengthen self-control

• How fasting lowers glutamate, quiets compulsive drives, and supports mental clarity

• Why unmanaged stress triggers relapse - and how simple daily habits can keep norepinephrine in check

• How changing your environment, your routines and even your mindset dramatically increases your chance of success

Find practical guidance on building consistency, overcoming setbacks, developing patience, and staying grounded during the recovery process. These tools are not harsh, complicated or costly - each one is easy to apply and becomes more powerful with repetition.

Whether you are struggling yourself or supporting someone on their journey, this book gives you an approach that is gentle, logical and evidence-based. By focusing on the process rather than the fear of relapse, you will develop the strength, clarity and balance needed to reclaim your life…

One peaceful, steady step at a time.

#BookReview ~ A Fresh Start at the Cornish Country Hospital by Jo Bartlett ~ #ContemporaryRomance @J_B_Writer @rararesources @BoldwoodBooks

A Fresh Start at the Cornish Country Hospital

When life changes in an instant, how do you find the courage to begin again? ❤️‍🩹

About the Book:

A&E doctor, Eve Bellingham’s life changed forever the night her fiancé Max was the victim of a brutal attack. Now, two years later, she has moved her life to Cornwall and is working at St Piran’s Hospital, helping his family cope as Max struggles with his devastating injuries.

But though Eve’s loyalty has never wavered, the man she loved is gone. Annie - Max’s mother - still clings to the hope that one day everything will return to how it was, but Eve isn't so sure it ever will. Torn between duty and despair, Eve feels trapped in a life that no longer fits.

Then she meets Felix Grainger, the dedicated occupational therapist helping Max towards independence. With kindness and quiet strength, he awakens feelings Eve thought she’d lost forever.

To seize her second chance, Eve must risk breaking the only family she’s ever known. Because sometimes, letting go is the bravest way to begin again.

My Review:

A Fresh Start at the Cornish Country Hospital is the seventh book in The Cornish Country Hospital series. The story is complicated, complex, and emotional. Both Eve and Felix have baggage that has prevented them from moving on after tragedies befell both of their significant others. Eve loses more and more of herself each day and Felix tortures himself with the what-ifs. When Eve and Felix meet, the chemistry is electric, surprising them both.

Eve and Felix's story, while a tear-jerker, also delivers hope, found family, and love. I love their characters, how the author drew them together, and the emotional connection they have. A Fresh Start at the Cornish Country Hospital is another story written with incredible realism and care. There are hard topics in this novel and the author delivered them with compassion, respect, and eye-opening knowledge.

This book took me a little bit longer to read than I anticipated because the topics are so deep. I stepped away more often than I generally do; not because I didn't like the book, but because my emotions were all over the place. I didn't want to miss anything because I was still dwelling on a particularly heartwrenching scene.

I was completely engaged in A Fresh Start at the Cornish Country Hospital, even when I wasn't reading it at any particular point. I was drawn in by the characters, their plights, and pasts. I was kept engaged by their strength, emotional intelligence, and interactions. I needed to know how everyone faired at the end and that they would be okay. Superb novel. Highly recommended.

I was provided with a copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

My Rating:
