Journey To The Scottish Highlands
About the Book:
Daisy’s career hasn’t exactly been going to plan and the last thing she wants to do is stay home and wallow in self-pity. So, when an opportunity arises to escape her London home, and make some money working a fancy event at a stately home, she jumps at it.
Determined to make the most out of the situation, she decides a road trip to the Scottish Highlands would be the perfect way to reset and take control of her life.
When devilishly handsome Evan finds himself stranded at the event following a cancelled flight to Scotland, Daisy does the kindest thing she can think of and invites him to join her. As they embark on their journey north, will the scenic trip help them rediscover themselves, and possibly even find something they weren’t expecting…
My Review:
Journey to the Scottish Highlands is the 10th book in the Scottish Escapes series. This is also the first book in the series I've had a chance to read. It most definitely can be read as a standalone. I love the author's writing style and will certainly be going back to the beginning of the series.
This story is a brilliant reminder of how words can harm a person. Maybe not physically but they sure can cause issues with self-confidence, capability, and willingness to chase your dreams. I love how the author tackles this subject in Journey to the Scottish Highlands.
The meeting between Daisy and Evan was creative. Their continued connection was crafted masterfully and executed well. They have chemistry from the second they meet but both have relationship baggage that keeps them from going all in through most of the story - hence the slow burn. This is also a great forced proximity romance.
I enjoyed Journey to the Scottish Highlands. The characters are fantastic, the setting is delightful, and the romance is cute. The story is filled with realism, believable emotional content, and a blossoming romance I was rooting for, even through the hard moments.
I was provided with a copy of this book. This does not
