#Review ~ Runaway Bride's Guide to Love by Chelle Sloan #BrothersBestFriend #AgeGap #Romance

Runaway Bride's Guide to Love by Chelle Sloan is now live!

A swoony, age gap, brother’s best friend, runaway bride romance from bestselling author, Chelle Sloan.

About the Book:

What happens when a dream wedding turns into a complete nightmare?

Horrible Dress - Check ✔️

No Flowers - Check ✔️
A cheating groom pretending to be my Prince Charming - Check ✔️

What should have been a highlight of my life turned into me becoming a runaway bride after seeing my fiancé doing something no bride should ever see.

And instead of celebrating my marriage at my reception with my loved ones and adoring new husband, I'm getting drunk at a dive bar with a handsome stranger.

A stranger who shows up at my brother’s beach house, where I’m spending my honeymoon – alone.

But it turns out that my handsome stranger isn’t a real stranger at all. Emmett Collins is also my brother's best friend and business partner.

I never pictured myself wanting a man like Emmett in his country boy jeans. But he turns out to be exactly who and what I need.

Two weeks. That's what we've given ourselves. It's the perfect vacation fling. He doesn't do relationships and my life is…well…a mess is putting it lightly.

There's just a few problems. Emmett makes me feel safe. His quiet smile lights me up inside. And that first time he kisses me? He brings out butterflies I never knew I could feel.

I think I'm falling in love with a man who doesn't believe in forever.

And there's no guide to love for that.

My Review:

Runaway Bride's Guide to Love is my first experience with Chelle Sloan's books. I loved this book so much. Stella and Emmet are such fantastic characters. Stella is a runaway bride after a series of unfortunate events that began the night of the rehearsal dinner and culminated in the shock of her life the day of the wedding. She finds an unlikely hero at a local bar who, instead of being a predator, is her knight-in-shining-armor.

Emmet Collins feels drawn to the disaster of a bride who found her way into the same bar as him. When she slips out of his house the morning after he made sure she was safe after her meltdown and drinking binge. He never expected to see her again, and they didn't exchange names or contact information.

That changes when Stella goes on her honeymoon anyway to one of her brother Simon's beach houses. When her brother's business partner pops in to check on her as a favor to Simon both are shocked to meet again. They spend a wonderful two weeks together, knowing things can't continue when they return home to Tennessee. Except, there's a problem. It seems feelings were caught.

This book is amazing. Stella is a rock star and Emmett is is so kind and considerate. Their chemistry is undeniable from their first meeting in that bar after she fled her wedding. Emmett is a wonderful help for Stella as she's going through the phases of grief over her broken engagement. I loved watching Stella evolve throughout Runaway Bride's Guide to Love, getting stronger and more confident. She sassy and funny.

I love the author's writing style; smooth and conversational. The various settings are described vividly and I felt like I was there. The character development is exceptional. I love each character's personality, how they were created, the three-dimensional qualities, and their uniqueness. Obviously, there are some characters that are not desirable or likeable but they are, nonetheless, written wonderfully. I will definitely be adding Chelle Sloan to my favorite authors list.

I was provided a copy of this book to read.
