About the Book:

When a black cat crosses Alice Adelcraft’s path, her luck changes, as does her worldview, especially when she stumbles into A Witch’s Thrift Shop. The merchandise is mysterious, the customers are curious, and the sign on the door reads: Shoplifters will be hexed. It might all be a joke, but the body of a witch outside proves someone was dead serious. Can Alice discover who killed the witch before the magical community discovers she isn’t one of them?

My Review:

Mysterious Merchandise is a cute cozy mystery with magic, Untalented and Talented people, hidden streets, and crabby genies. When Alice Adelcraft stumbles upon a black cat that leads her into an alley, she had no idea that she's about to enter a world she is supposed to know nothing about. Things get even more peculiar when Alice happens upon a dead woman. Now Alice must figure out who wanted the woman dead before others, including herself, are next.

I enjoyed Mysterious Merchandise. The story is fast-paced and a quick read at only 142 pages. The characters are interesting and likable. The world building allows for a wonderfully developed imaginary world steeped in reality. I could visualize every scene and every character. The plot was pretty simplistic, not really all that complex. There are a few false leads and red herrings tossed in to remove suspicion off of the perpetrator.

Enjoyable and Fun!

I was given a copy of this book to read.
