About Prodigal Moon

I was inspired by the idea of something that disappears and returns on a predictable schedule (the visible moon) and something that cannot return (a lost love.)

Prodigal Moon

Prodigal moon

You can spin me a silent tune

But you can’t return my love to me

I dare you to try

Catch him on the fly

Before he escapes ‘cross the sea

Prodigal Moon

A short story about a long-lasting friendship.

Deborah Virgo and Valentins Hines met on the first day of summer 2017. The youngsters lived at the wrong end of Fox Avenue. The electricity had been turned off in Valentins’s house, but he didn’t mind sitting on the covered porch painting figurines. His mother, Doriend Hines, was gone most of the time, working at the Daily Grind Bistro or The Zealous Whistle Tavern or staying overnight with old folks who paid her under the table for her caregiving services. Doriend was a workaholic who would have been thriving monetarily if not for being a functional alcoholic and opioid addict with a love of gambling.

Valentins was sitting on the porch at dusk, painting a vampire figurine for his haunted house, when a wraithlike girl with an alabaster complexion and waves of xanthic hair flowing to her mid-back entered the gate. She was wearing a knee-length olive-green gown that looked like it might have been all the rage in the 1920s and a pair of shiny, malachite-green shoes.

 “Hello,” the girl greeted.

 “Hi yourself,” Valentins returned.

“I’m Deborah Virgo. My family just moved into the house across the road from you.”

“Valentins Hines.”

“Could I see what you’re working on?”

“Sure. Come on up.”

The girl appeared to float just above the ground as she crossed the lawn. Her rose-colored lips bowed in a reserved smile. As she drew closer, Valentins noticed her unusual eyes. At first, he supposed that the rufous shade was a trick of the light, but the color remained constant when the battery-operated lantern shone directly on the girl’s face.

About the Author:

Ornery Owl is a wise old bird who seeks the truth behind the lies. She uses her observations to heal the wounded soul. In essence, she is the spirit of an odd little bird whose wings were clipped at a young age. She is at once a whimsical manifestation of poetic expression and a fierce protector of those targeted for derision by an angry and unsympathetic world. Depending on how you perceive her, she can be either a goddamned delight or your worst nightmare.

Jessica Fletcher learns that exercise can be murder in this new entry in the USA Today bestselling Murder, She Wrote series.

Former editor of the Cabot Cove Gazette, Evelyn Phillips is back in Cabot Cove. Evelyn tells Jessica and Seth that she got a couple of really weird notes from Bertha Mae Cormier so she’s come back to town to check on her old friend. She demands that Jessica come with her to see Bertha Mae, who is a bit dithery but no more so than Jessica remembers her being in recent years.

Jessica does become somewhat concerned when Bertha Mae starts to talk about her new neighbor, Martin Terranova. He is quite charming and very health conscious and he teaches yoga and meditation in his pool house. Maureen Metzger says that she and Bertha Mae became friends in Terranova’s class and mentions how solicitous he is to his older clients.

Jessica attends one of his classes and does notice that Terranova is flirtatious with several elderly clients, especially Bertha Mae. Evelyn is becoming convinced that Bertha Mae is being mesmerized by Terranova and that he is after Bertha Mae’s money. A short while late, Martin turns up dead in his weight room. What at first blush seems to be an accident, soon proves to be murder and Jessica must put her investigative skills to the test when Evelyn becomes the prime suspect.

About the Authors:

Along with Jessica Fletcher, Terrie Farley Moran co-writes the Murder She Wrote mystery series including Murder, She Wrote: Killer on the Court. She is the author of the Read ‘Em and Eat cozy mystery series and also co-writes the Scrapbooking Mysteries with Laura Childs. The only thing Terrie enjoys more than wrangling mystery plots into submission is hanging out with any or all of her seven grandchildren.

Wrath by Cala Riley is now live! #Review #MCRomance @GreysPromo

Wrath by Cala Riley is now live!

About the Book:

Wrath
All I have in life is my brothers and my club.
It's all I ever needed.
Until Tara.
Seeing her broken and bruised called to a part of me I thought was long dead.
She can't handle my brand of crazy though.
So I'll offer her the only thing I can.
My claim, but in name only.

Tara
Being a sweetbutt, I never let myself imagine finding my happy ever after within the walls of the Lotus MC.
It just wasn't done.
Until Wrath.
His claim was meant to save me, but it only left me feeling isolated.
He thinks I can't handle him, but he's wrong.
Underneath this damaged girl is a woman dying to burst free.
If only, I could break down his walls enough to explore it with him.

With danger lurking around every corner, will Wrath and Tara ever be able to overcome their insecurities and find solace within one another?

Check trigger warnings.

My Review:

Wrath is the excellent second book in the Lotus MC Series.

Wrath has never needed a steady woman in his life...until Tara. When she is attacked, Wrath claims her to protect and save her. Neither expected for their union to be the beginning of anything, let along the breaking down of walls.

Wrath is a beautiful and gritty MC romance, filled with suspense, action, and realism. The authors created a novel with all the feels. I laughed and I cried. I worried and then felt immense relief. I was anxious and on the edge of my seat. The description of the book pulled me in but the character-driven plot, outstanding character development and world-building, and writing style kept me engaged. I couldn't put the book down.

For the record - I hate needles just as Tara does, but I have four tattoos. Medical needles and tattooing are 2 completely different animals. I could get tattooed everyday, but shots and getting blood drawn freak me out.

I can't wait for the next book about Colt.

I was provided a copy of this book.

Meet Cala Riley:

Cala Riley, better known as Cala and Riley, are a pair of friends with a deep seated love of books and writing. Both Cala and Riley are happily married and each have children, Cala with the four-legged kind while Riley has a mixture of both two-legged and four. While they live apart, that does not affect their connection. They are the true definition of family. What started as an idea that quickly turned into a full-length book and a bond that will never end.
