New Release Review ~ Saint's Passage (Elemental Covenant #1) by Elizabeth Hunter @EHunterWrites ~ Dynamic Paranormal Romance

Saint’s Passage, an all-new mysterious and dynamic paranormal romance from USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Hunter is available now!

About the Book:

Everyone said that Lupe Martínez was a good kid. She listened to her mom, she helped at the homeless shelter, she got good grades, and she had a bright future ahead of her.
Until she disappeared.

Now no one knows what to think. The police are sure she ran away; her mother is sure she didn’t. Days have passed and no one knows what to do until her family priest suggests they call in an old friend.

A very old friend.

Carwyn ap Bryn and Brigid Connor are two elemental vampires finding the lost, righting wrongs, and searching for meaning in the endless stretch of immortality they've been granted.

And trying not to blow things up, but that might be more aspirational.

Saint's Passage is the first book in the paranormal mystery series, Elemental Covenant by Elizabeth Hunter, USA Today bestselling author of the Elemental Legacy series, the Glimmer Lake Series, and the Irin Chronicles.

My Review:

Saint's Passage is book one in the new Elemental Covenant series set in the Elemental Mysteries, Elemental World, and Elemental Legacy world featuring the most fantastic vampiric characters. Carwyn is contacted by a priest when a teenage just up and disappears without warning signs or any reasons. Carwyn and Brigid know their particular talents are required if they are going to figure out what circumstances led up to the disappearance and find the missing girl.

How much do I love Carwyn? So, so much. I have since the very first time I met him. He's not the typical broody vampire. He's an extrovert with a wicked sense of humor, quick wit, and gentle, loving nature. His wife, Brigid, is pretty okay, too, I guess (is it possible to be jealous of the fictional spouse of a fictional character?) Really, Brigid is a badass and I love her character, too.

We get to see Carwyn and Brigid interact with one another and others as they search for clues to the disappearance. This book features characters from previous books and it's like being welcomed back home, visiting, and finding out what's been happening in everyone's lives.

In case you've never read one of my reviews of an Elizabeth Hunter novel, I am a huge fan and devour everything she writes. She has never written anything but the best stories. I’ve been one of her biggest fans since I devoured A Hidden Fire, her first book in the Elemental Mysteries series. All of Elizabeth's novels reach deep within my emotional center and manage to trigger reactionary responses. These types of books are my favorite. The emotions don't have to always include tears; it is just the ability to invoke proper emotional responses to scenarios being played out.

Everything she writes is phenomenal. Elizabeth Hunter is, by far, one of my all-time favorite authors. She has writing skills that just draw the reader in from the very beginning. When I was originally approached to review the ARC of A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, Book One) in 2011, never did I expect as much literary power to come from within the pages of a brand new author and every single book I've read from Elizabeth Hunter since then carries that same power. I have been mesmerized by her books from the very beginning.
