Seven journeys across time, space, and the imagination.
Journeys, space travel, time travel, quests, spaces in between, portals…
In this second volume in the Far, Far Away series, we’ve gathered together the words of seven authors who’ve had the courage to explore the furthest reaches of reality.
Slip between the layers of space and time to discover what lives in the pockets. Find love in the most unexpected of ways and watch it thrive across the tapestry of history. March with the soldiers of a forgotten kingdom as they travel on foot and question the value of life and the hereafter. Then meet the gods and journey with them to correct the timeline of the mortal realm.
In this collection, you’ll get stuck in a time loop you won’t want to leave, experience the revival of an impossible connection between man and machine, and meet the aliens who will make portal-hopping possible in the near future.
So pack your bags for an epic journey and enjoy the trip… From Here to There

"What are you doing
here?"
"Nice to see you too,
Chronos."
Chronos grunted and turned away
from his door, leaving it open for Persephone and the bee—who, she had learned,
was named Glykiá—to follow. She shut the door behind them and followed Chronos
into the kitchen.
She said kitchen, but really it
was little more than a barren, stone room. If the Underworld was the most
advanced of the realms, Olympus was by far the least, stuck back in antiquity.
There was no such thing as refrigeration or even electricity. Some of the gods
had rudimentary plumbing in their homes, but most did not. Persephone made a
note to avoid all restrooms until she was in the mortal realm.
Chronos plunked himself into a
sturdy wooden chair drawn up to the only table in the room, and tucked into a
breakfast of fruit, bread, and cheese. "What do you want?" he asked,
not offering either breakfast or a chair.
Persephone helped herself to the
latter, dropping into the seat across from Chronos, but refraining from
touching his breakfast.
"I need a favour," she
said, and Chronos speared her with a withering gaze.
"The last time you said
that, you wanted me to go out with your mother. Worst date of my life."
"How many times do I have to
apologize for that? I had no idea she'd spend the whole date crying about Zeus.
They broke up three centuries earlier. But I'll give you a favour in return.
Whatever you want."
"What do you want?"
Chronos repeated, unmoved.
"Time travel."
Chronos, the god of time, could
send her back anywhere in time with a snap of his fingers.
"I thought you liked the
futuristic glamour of the Underworld."
"I do. My trip is for business
rather than pleasure. In the mortal realm."
Chronos laughed harshly.
"There's the catch. You know the treaty prevents me from using magic in
the mortal realm."
"I thought the time doors
operated between realms?"
"They do," Chronos
said, aggravation deepening the lines on his face.
"Then you wouldn't be using
magic in the mortal realm, technically. Please, Chronos."
"Fine, whatever,"
Chronos snapped. "If I agree, will you leave me alone to finish my
breakfast?"
"I would have been gone five
minutes ago," Persephone agreed.
"Then I'll do it. Also, I
want a latte."
"A latte?"
"From the mortal realm. We
haven't had any coffee in Olympus since the treaty and I despise going to the
mortal realm for it."
"Then I'll bring you a latte."
